Position Description
Position Summary:
As a Project Engineer at Eby Construction, you will play a key role in supporting on-site project execution by overseeing project administration, scheduling, and engineering activities. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and manage daily construction engineering efforts while collaborating closely with the Project Manager and Job Superintendent. You will serve as a central point of coordination on the jobsite, ensuring efficient project operations, clear communication, and alignment with project goals for safety, quality, and timely completion.
Essential Functions:
  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Manages, trains and leads all engineers on project
  • Coordinates with the superintendent to develop the project schedule including equipment and material requirements
  • Prepares project budget and cost reporting data with the approval of the PM
  • Process shop drawings, submittals, and expedite material deliveries
  • Prepare construction drawings - dewatering, excavation, form, lift, line, erection, other
  • Estimate and process all change orders and requests for information
  • Assist the Project Management and Estimating team with buy-out and writing of purchase orders and subcontracts
  • Accumulate all necessary data, recording of quantities, preparation of required documentation and follow-up to ensure payment per contract

Position Requirements
As the Project Engineer must be able to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team, while consistently adhering to company safety policies and participating in required safety training programs. This position requires the ability to perform tasks using appropriate methods and procedures based on skill level, along with a strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, expediting, contract documents, estimating, and tracking labor, materials, and costs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competencies aligned with both field and office engineering functions and have 4-6 years of ?practical construction experience.
