Job Overview

Epoxy Coating Specialists (ECS) is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Project Engineer to support the successful execution of multiple commercial and industrial seamless flooring projects from pre-construction through closeout.

This role plays a critical part in schedule coordination, submittal tracking, safety documentation, field reporting, financial tracking, and change management. The Project Engineer will work cross-functionally with sales, operations, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to ECSs high standards of quality.

Reporting directly to the Director of Project Management, this position offers valuable exposure to both operational execution and financial performancecreating a strong foundation for career growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination & Management
    • Assist in managing multiple projects from pre-construction through closeout.

    • Coordinate project schedules, track submittals, and ensure safety documentation compliance.

    • Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations Manager, and Superintendents on planning, scheduling, and procurement.

    • Monitor schedule progress and provide updates to support overall platform scheduling.

    • Identify, document, and track change orders.

    • Maintain accurate project documentation including material usage and inventory tracking.

    • Support project closeout through job reports, punch lists, and final submittals.

  • Financial & Contract Support
    • Assist with tracking project budgets, invoicing, and change orders.

    • Prepare and submit invoices in coordination with the Project Manager.

    • Maintain accurate financial documentation and reporting.

  • Field & Site Management
    • Support field teams with jobsite documentation including safety reports and material tracking.

    • Complete and oversee daily field reporting and safety compliance documentation.

    • Ensure clear communication of project requirements to installation teams.

  • Customer &Team Collaboration
    • Support customer communication and maintain organized project documentation.

    • Develop and distribute progress reports for customers and internal stakeholders.

    • Coordinate resolution of project-related issues across departments.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).

  • 13 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of project scheduling, submittals, and construction documentation.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with ERP systems, scheduling software, or project tracking tools preferred.

  • Valid drivers license required.

  • Ability to travel within a 34 hour radius of Kansas City and accommodate overnight travel as needed.
