Job description

The Aviation MRO Engineering Planner/Evaluator role has duties and responsibilities related to technical evaluation, inspection, and workscope planning of aircraft components, assemblies, and systems in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment. This position ensures that all incoming and in-process components are correctly identified, evaluated, documented, and planned for a specific workscope in strict compliance with OEM technical data, FAA regulations, EASA requirements, customer requirements, and company quality standards.

This role involves working closely with various departments such as Production, Quality, Engineering, Customer Program Management, and supply chain ensuring that all workscopes are technically accurate, cost-effective, and executable.

         Perform detailed inspection and evaluation of aircraft components, accessories, and assemblies.

         Know and understand the Repair Station Manuals to ensure inspections / evaluations and associated elements follow company requirements, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.

         Interpret and apply Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs), Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMMs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Engineering Drawings, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and applicable OEM Technical Data to generate accurate workscopes, planning, reports, bill of materials, labor hours, engineering requirements, identification of tools and test equipment, and routing plans for components, subassemblies, and details.

         Identify, verify, and document all discrepancies, defects, damage, wear limits, corrosion, missing data, incorrect configurations, non-conforming conditions, and missing or incorrect parts.

         Technical decision-making to determine serviceability, repairability (repair vs. replace, alternate repairs), part interchangeability, and alternate / approved substitutions based on all the applicable requirements and approved data.

         Validate part numbers, serial numbers, modification status, and configuration against technical documentation.

         Interpret and apply customer requirements flowed through the contracts, purchase orders, and customer airworthiness programs.

         Utilize ERP (Syteline) to enter discrepancy data, routing plans (to support shops, outside vendors), material requirements, and to track parts, processes, and labor.

         Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) to analyze data, build planning tools, communicate with engineering, quality, customer program manager, purchasing, and production.

         Know and understand company / department policies and safety procedures.

         Other duties as needed or as assigned.

         Bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years of experience preferred or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.

         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

         High attention to detail and documentation accuracy to translate inspection results into executable maintenance plans.

         Excellent written and oral communication skills

         Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing and Internet software.

         Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, mechanical assemblies, component repair principles and practices.

         Ability to organize and manage large amounts of technical and planning data accurately.

         Flexibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
