Job Title: Lab Manager

Location: Santa Clara, CA (100% Onsite)

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 12 Months

Experience: 3+ years

Job Overview  

Our client is seeking a hands-on Lab Manager to serve as the central point of coordination for engineering labs across multiple business units at their Santa Clara facility. You will work closely with engineering teams, Facilities, IT, Security, and EHS to keep day-to-day lab operations running smoothly, support lab moves, manage assets, and maintain lab readiness.

Key Responsibilities  
  • Serve as the day-to-day operational contact for engineering labs across business units
  • Execute bench assignments, equipment placement, and furniture rearrangements; support lab moves and consolidations
  • Monitor space utilization, flag underused areas, and maintain layout records
  • Maintain working inventory of lab equipment, test assets, and consumables; coordinate asset sharing across BUs
  • Provide regular updates on lab activity, moves completed, and equipment status
  • Represent engineering BUs in Facilities discussions regarding lab space needs
  • Enforce lab standards including ESD, calibration, safety, and training compliance; support regular audits
  • Maintain lab access lists in coordination with Security and Facilities
Required Skills  
  • 3+ years in lab operations, facilities coordination, or a similar hands-on support role
  • Experience in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • General understanding of lab workflows, basic safety protocols, and day-to-day operational practices
  • Strong organizational skills — able to track inventory, space usage, and project status
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Basic comfort with spreadsheets or lab/asset tracking tools
Preferred Skills  
  • Prior exposure to IWMS or similar space/facilities management systems
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience
Location & Work Model  

Santa Clara, CA — 100% Onsite. This role requires full-time presence at the facility.
