How You Will Make an Impact:
The Engine Builder is responsible for engine rebuilding including teardown, cleaning, inspection measuring and sub-assembly, quality control and final fitting. They also clean, inspect, and analyze the condition of engine components and parts to assist in determining suitability for future use.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Teardown, clean, inspect, measure, repair, and rebuild Moser generator engines.
  • Analyze and trouble shoot engine and performance problems.
  • Generate various technical and summary reports.
  • Measure and record bearing clearances, compression ratios, camshaft centerlines, etc.
  • Document engine build/parts problems and recommended countermeasures.
  • Responsible for shop maintenance, keeping the washroom and grinding room clean.
  • Maintain engine carts and dollies and document tool / consumable inventory.
  • Sort, separate and dispose of stock parts, chassis, and show and business group projects.
  • Perform various tedious tasks, hone valve guides, grind, and polish valve faces, etc.
  • Check-in and disassemble engines.
  • Clean and inspect engine components and parts.
  • Analyze and evaluate the condition of component parts to assess suitability for future use.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 2 to 5 years of engine experience is required.
  • Technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of basic mechanic tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with rebuilding engines and components.
  • Ability to take precise and consistent measurements using a variety of measuring devices.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Read and follow complex directions in manuals and relay information in reports.
  • Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to work legally in the US.
  • Pass a drug screening.
  • Clean motor vehicle record

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Position requires site visits in office, shop, outdoor, and industrial field environments, including areas with uneven surfaces and potential exposure to slips, trips, falls, and other common site hazards.
  • Must be able to walk job sites, climb stairs and ladders as needed, stand for extended periods, and perform field inspections and measurements.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and work in or around active construction, fabrication, or operating environments while complying with all applicable safety requirements.
