  • Commission-only structure at an 8% Setter rate on every appointment that results in a closed and installed job
  • No closing required — our experienced Closers run the in-home presentation, you just get us in the door
  • Set more appointments, earn more — top setters who consistently get quality appointments on the books can build serious income without ever having to close a sale themselves
About UsHome Energy Pros (HEP) is a door-to-door home services company based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, helping homeowners lower their energy bills and improve their home's health and efficiency. We sell and install MLI radiant barrier insulation, solar attic fans, mold remediation, whole-home water filtration, and air purification systems. We've built our own in-house sales training system — The Door Standard — to give every rep a proven, repeatable process for success at the door.
Job SummaryWe're looking for an energetic D2D Appointment Setter to join our Fort Wayne team. This role is all about the door: getting homeowners engaged, building quick rapport, and setting solid appointments for our Closers to run. It's a great fit if you like the rush of the doorstep conversation but want to leave the in-home sales presentation to someone else. No home energy sales experience required — just some background in sales, canvassing, or customer-facing work and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
  • Canvass residential neighborhoods in assigned Fort Wayne-area territory
  • Approach homeowners at the door and build rapport using HEP's proven door approach
  • Generate interest and identify homeowner pain points to qualify appointments
  • Set in-home appointments for HEP Closers, ensuring the homeowner and decision-maker will be present
  • Track daily door and appointment activity using company tools (Active Knocker)
  • Attend regular sales training and team meetings to sharpen door skills and stay aligned with company standards
  • Maintain a professional, honest, and customer-first approach on every doorstep
Qualifications
  • Some experience in door-to-door sales, direct sales, canvassing, or a similar customer-facing role preferred
  • Outgoing personality and strong communication skills
  • Comfortable with face-to-face rejection and high daily activity volume
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own schedule and daily door goals
  • Reliable transportation
  • Coachable — willing to learn and follow a structured process
  • Must be comfortable with a 100% commission-based pay structure
What We Offer
  • Uncapped commission-only earning potential tied directly to your effort at the door
  • In-house training program (The Door Standard) built specifically for HEP's process
  • Clear path to grow into a Closer or Self-Gen role (and higher commission rates) once you're ready
  • Supportive team environment with ongoing coaching
  • Flexible daily schedule within canvassing hours
