Job description

The Amazon Energy Portfolio Operations (EPO) team is looking for an Energy Operations Manager to join us. EPO manages renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs) and data center energy supply agreements (ESAs) post their execution, provides controllership for financial and operational performance, and ensures our supply portfolio is compliant with external regulations, contract obligations as well as internal policies.
Our team is looking for an individual with a track record for managing contracts in the energy procurement/supply space. The right candidate has experience managing programs, including planning, launching and executing initiatives that drive excellence. This role will support the management of our contracts in an assigned region, and will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the org to report, analyze and improve performance of our energy portfolio. The right candidate can manage multiple projects simultaneously, has an analytical skill set, and experience managing contracts.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the assigned portfolio of energy agreements and renewable power purchase agreements.
- Act as a subject matter expert on executed energy agreements in designated markets, and own the management of the contractual obligations with counterparties.
- Report and analyze performance in assigned portfolio, identifying impacts to our business units and our customers.
- Support the management of the on-boarding process for new contracts with a large number of counterparties. Track progress and drive for successful completion.
- Take part in shaping and implement the EPO programs (including contract management, financial performance and energy compliance with external and internal stakeholders) to meet the org's goals and success metrics.
- Plan and drive execution of initiatives to improve our energy operations. Continuously seek to invent and simplify in order to achieve further scale effect for Amazon's management of its energy portfolio.
- Work collaboratively with other AWS and Amazon teams to support the management of the energy programs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or above
- 5+ years of contracts management experience
- Experience with supplier or vendor relationship management
- 3-7 years managing cross-functional projects, initiatives and teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources or related field
- Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements
- Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
