Job description

Our client, a well-established and financially strong international energy trading company with a growing presence in the US market is seeking a talented Energy Commodities Operations Analyst to join their expanding Middle Office Operations team in the Firm's Houston, TX office.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Daily OTC transaction lifecycle support: trade confirmation (paper/eConfirm), invoicing/billing, settlement, ISO positions, Load Supply, Power Scheduling liaison, regulatory reporting, futures reconciliation
  • Providing Operations requirements for testing, and implementing new products and trading system enhancements
  • Review and approval of complex transactions
  • Set up and maintain Reference Data and fees for counterparties, exchanges, FCMs, and brokers, etc.
  • Support the transaction surveillance processes
  • Assist the front office with KYC and onboarding requirements


Education and Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; preferably in a related area of study.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years+ of work experience within the Operations and/or Middle Office team at a trading and sales business within in the Commodities Services Industry (Energy preferred)


Key Professional Areas of Expertise:

  • Knowledge of physical and financial commodities markets, both retail and wholesale markets
  • Knowledge of physical/financial power, natural gas, and renewable (RECs) products traded (Futures, Forwards, Swaps, Options, Load, FTRs)
  • Knowledge of retail power recommended
  • Experience in trade confirmations, invoicing/settlements, Transactional Regulatory Reporting, ISO invoice reconciliations
  • Experience in testing trading system rollouts and enhancements
