Job description

The Midstream Technician will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of facilities, pipelines, and related equipment for Crude Oil, Natural Gas, and Produced Water gathering systems. This position reports to the Midstream Foreman and is based in Watford City, ND. The role requires travel to field sites. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Overall maintenance, upkeep, and appearance of facilities, LACTs, transfer pumps, pipeline, and ROW

  • Diagnose and repair pumps, seals, valves and instruments

  • Install, repair, service and maintain valves, pipe, and pipeline appurtenances

  • Perform daily routine check of assigned facilities, LACTS, transfers, and pipelines through completing visual inspections and monitoring SCADA

  • Respond to alarms and callouts

  • Collect and enter tickets and complete daily reports

  • Monitor oil quality by doing grind outs; setting BSW cards to accurate readings from oil samples

  • Follow Company guidelines and SOP's along with safety standards set by the Company

  • Communicate effectively with other department and submit work orders per the Company standard

  • Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns

  • All other duties as assigned or based on business need

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3 years of related experience

  • Valid driver's license

  • Must be at least 21 years old for Company motor vehicle insurance

  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment used in Oil and Gas production and processing

  • Ability to use power and hand tools

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    • Able to handle exposure to extreme weather conditions and areas where hazardous chemicals are present

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit and walk extensively

    • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical, and to be able to meet all physical requirements of the job
