Job description

Midstream is an AI-native financial operating system for health systems, founded by experienced entrepreneurs and backed by top-tier investors. We give finance, supply chain, and managed care teams real-time visibility into where margin is at risk, with a precise action plan for capturing it before it's gone.
Purpose-built for healthcare's complexity, Midstream transforms structured, unstructured, and external data into instant, contract-aware insights that drive smarter decisions. Our AI agents unify spend and revenue operations across the full back-office, learning and adapting with every interaction and delivering always-on intelligence that no point solution or one-off engagement can match.
We're compressing months to minutes and turning post-period hindsight into in-the-moment foresight. The tempo of healthcare finance is changing, and Midstream is leading it.
Opportunity
We are looking for a Software Engineer, Front End to design and build the interaction layer for Midstream's AI-native product.
This role focuses on how users understand, decide, and act within the product. You will translate complex data and AI-driven responses into clear, intuitive experiences that guide users toward the right decisions rather than just present information.
You'll work across the stack, with a primary focus on frontend, to build fast, responsive interfaces that make complex workflows and decisions feel simple and reliable. This is an opportunity to help define how AI-native interfaces behave in production systems and over complex datasets, blending chat with structured, guided interactions.
What you'll be doing
  • Build the interaction layer for an AI-native product
Design and implement user interfaces that turn complex data, insights, recommendations into clear, actionable workflows.
  • Translate complexity into intuitive experiences
Make complex data systems feel simple, fast, and navigable through strong interaction design and information architecture.
  • Define AI-native UX patterns
Design interfaces that are suggestive, responsive, and trustworthy, guiding users toward decisions rather than leaving them with open-ended outputs.
  • Own frontend systems and architecture
Build scalable frontend components and patterns that enable fast, consistent product development.
  • Work across the stack
Partner closely with backend systems, on APIs, data models, and real-time infrastructure to deliver seamless product experiences.

Who you are
  • A strong frontend engineer with product instincts
You build high-quality user experiences and care deeply about usability, interaction design, and performance.
  • Comfortable across the stack
You're strong in TypeScript, React (or similar), and modern frontend architecture, and comfortable working with APIs and backend systems.
  • Experienced with complex interfaces
You've built analytics-heavy or workflow-driven products and know how to make them feel intuitive and fast.
  • Interested in AI-native products
You have experience with or a strong curiosity about agent-driven systems and how they shape user interaction.
  • A builder who thrives in ambiguity
You're comfortable turning loosely defined problems into intuitive and reliable product experiences.
