As an Employee Relations Business Partner, you will play a critical supporting role on the Employee Relations team. You’ll assist with the day-to-day employee relations operations, ensuring we maintain a fair, compliant, and supportive workplace. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career to learn the foundations of employee relations and contribute substantially across multiple areas.

This role is based in our Chicago, IL and Westlake, TX offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do
  • Align employee relations (ER) policies with legal requirements and company values
  • Assist with tracking feedback, conducting research, compiling data, and coordinating updates with internal stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional partners by preparing resources, scheduling meetings, and tracking follow-ups
  • Assist in ER investigations and observe interviews under the guidance of senior ER team members
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development and Legal to support ER-related training initiatives. Assist in preparing materials and managing logistics for sessions on topics such as investigations, policy adherence, and performance management
  • Maintain accurate case records in HR Acuity, ensure documentation meets compliance standards, and produce routine reports
  • Assist in managing severance agreements and accommodation logistics, including documentation and vendor communication
  • Monitor the ER team inbox, respond to standard inquiries, and elevate complex or sensitive matters as needed
What you bring
  • 10 years of HR experience, including a minimum of 3 years in employee relations or HR business partner roles in dynamic, high-growth environments
  • Ability to collaborate across levels and departments to support ER strategies and outcomes
  • Knowledge of core HR practices and employment laws at both the state and federal level
  • Familiarity with ER areas, such as performance management, corrective action, and conflict resolution; you are able to navigate complex conversations and provide objective input
  • Ability to analyze people data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Experience with HR tools, including case management systems (e.g., HR Acuity)

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC)

$166,000 - $195,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$146,000 - $172,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

$129,000 - $152,000 USD
