Job description

Camping World & Good Sam is seeking an experienced and collaborative Employee Relations Partner to join our team on a hybrid basis in Chicago, IL.

The Employee Relations partner will partner with Human Resources and business leadership teams. As part of the Employee Relations Center of Expertise, this selected professional will be a vitally important part of the entire human resources strategy. This individual will be responsible for managing employee relations in a prompt, fair, and consistent manner.

This role operates independently to organize priorities and resolve issues. Core responsibilities include understanding and responding to employee inquiries or concerns, consulting/coaching with and providing guidance to managers, and working collaboratively with others to continue building a positive and engaging employee experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide coaching and guidance for ER matters including performance and conduct management.

  • Intake employee concerns and conduct timely, thorough investigations into a range of employee concerns

  • Manage moderate level investigations or assist ER Team/HR Director in conducting investigations.

  • Ensure that activity is captured in the case management system in a way that balances sensitivity and thoroughness

  • Work in partnership with multiple stakeholders with differing points of view while maintaining the confidentiality of complex and highly sensitive subject matter.

  • Demonstrate ability to balance sometimes conflicting points of view but maintains risk abatement and organizational reputation as high operational importance.

  • Use experience and expertise to build foundation and sustain best practices, tools, processes, and programs for Employee Relations COE.

  • Build and maintain relationships with regional HR leadership to promote positive employee relations to build a high level of employee performance and engagement.

  • Identify risk and potential company liability and work with broader ER/HR team and legal if/when applicable.

What You'll Need to Have for the Role:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner with 2-3 years in employee (or labor) relations, compliance, or employee experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting moderate risk investigations.

  • Knowledge of -- or ability to quickly learn -- federal, state, and local laws, and statutes governing employment policies and practices.

  • Competency in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and an HRIS system.

  • Experience in working with a large workforce such as retail, service, or manufacturing.

The pay range for this role considers several factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Camping World, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors stated. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below.

Pay Range:

$71,600.00-$109,700.00 Annual
