Job description

The Leave Administrator administers leave of absence programs for LCS corporate and community employees. This role advises employees and managers on the organization's leave programs, analyzes leave claims or requests, determines employee eligibility, assists managers in the development of alternate work arrangements or coordination of coverage, and manages employee return to work or separation. This role records leaves and adjusts time or pay in the HRIS/payroll system as needed. This role also ensures compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.

This role performs work under general supervision and handles moderately complex issues and problems, referring more complex issues to the Leave Manager.

What You'll Do: 

  • Serves as subject matter expert for managers and/or employees requesting or inquiring about a leave of absence or accommodation under general direction and guidance of the Benefits Manager, Leave Analyst, and the compliance/legal department.
  • Coordinates the leave process for covered employees; verifies eligibility, determines leave approval, calculates leave length, issues applicable notices, coordinates the applicable leaves including integration with state leave laws, monitors maximum duration of leave allowed under federal/state and/or client policy, and supports the return-to-work process.
  • Supports in-bound and outbound employee leave related calls and responds to inquiries received via the leave of absence email box.
  • Track employee absences and record time off in the HRIS and timekeeping systems. 
  • Throughout the duration of the leave, the leave administrator is responsible for all communications with the employee, the employee's manager, Community Human Resources, and others as deemed necessary.
  • Initiate the ADAA process when necessary and ensure the interactive process is effective and efficient.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all federal/state/local laws, regulations, processes, forms, et al, including but not limited to FMLA. CRFA, ADA, Parental Leave, USERRA.
  • Ensures employee privacy, including confidentiality and protection of sensitive employee reports and information and maintains employee records in accordance with company policy and/or regulations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience, including leave of absence administration and employee leave program support.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency with leave management software and HR information systems (HRIS).
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment while adapting to changing priorities and maintaining a customer service-focused approach.
  • knowledge of FMLA/ADAA regulations and requirements.

The actual title & salary will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
