Account Manager - Employee Benefits Locations: West Des Moines, IA, or Cedar Rapids, IA (Hybrid) What You'll Do As an Employee Benefits Account Manager, you'll oversee a portfolio of fully insured employee benefits clients while serving as their trusted advisor and primary day-to-day resource. You'll partner closely with producers, insurance carriers, and internal teams to ensure clients receive proactive service, strategic guidance, and seamless support throughout the policy lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities Manage an assigned portfolio of employee benefits accounts while delivering proactive, high-quality client service. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, producers, carriers, and internal service teams, responding promptly to questions and requests. Build trusted relationships with clients by understanding their business objectives and delivering customized service solutions.

Coordinate policy administration, renewals, enrollments, documentation, and ongoing account maintenance. Maintain accurate policy records, client files, billing information, and renewal documentation within agency systems. Collaborate with internal specialists, including Claims, Legal, Safety, Marketing, and Technology teams, to deliver comprehensive client solutions.

Assist with marketing efforts, carrier negotiations, benefit plan placement, and renewal strategies in accordance with agency workflows. Prepare reports, presentations, and supporting materials for client meetings and annual benefit reviews. Stay informed on employee benefits legislation, carrier products, compliance requirements, and industry trends.

Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall client experience. Travel periodically to client locations, carrier meetings, and regional offices as business needs require. Qualifications High school diploma or GED.

Experience managing a book of Employee Benefits insurance accounts. Active Life & Health (L&H) Insurance License. Previous customer service or account management experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree.

Experience working with an agency management system or CRM, preferably EPIC. Insurance agency or brokerage experience. What Makes You Successful We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and delivering exceptional client experiences.
