Job Summary
The Student Experience Assistant position will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative tasks of School of Nursing. This position serves as first-line support to prospective students, visitors, faculty, staff, and guests of the IUSON Bloomington.
Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Provides swift responses or next-level referral for on-site and virtual incoming inquiries.
  • Manages Nursing's inbox.
  • Answers and directs incoming phone calls.
  • Collaborates with IUSON Undergraduate Advising team to develop and implement programming and resources for the First Year Experience.
  • Updates file resources in print and virtual formats.
  • Provides back-up support for IUSON Bloomington Regional Academic Health Center visits.
  • Assists staff with miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
  • 1 year experience in an administrative support role
  • Experience in higher education
SKILLS
Required
  • Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge and/or the ability to learn Microsoft Office, OneDrive, and Canvas
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Illustrated attention to detail
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain confidential information

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Additional Information
This position will begin in September.

Advertised Salary
$15.00 per hour
Work Hours
This is a part-time position up to 20 hours per week.
Requires weekly availability between 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Flexibility to shift schedule on days of exams and other important events is helpful.
