Job description

POSITION: EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

COMANCO is seeking an Employee Development Coordinator to support the growth, development, and success of our field employees. This role serves as a key connection between employees, field leadership, Safety, and Administration by helping employees develop professionally, reinforcing safe work practices, and supporting a positive workplace culture.

Employee Development & Training

  • Support employee onboarding and help new hires successfully transition into field operations.
  • Conduct Safety Orientation and communicate company policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Monitor employee progress through regular follow-up meetings and field visits.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to support employee coaching, development, and performance improvement.
  • Identify training opportunities and recommend development solutions.
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and professional growth throughout the organization.

Field Support & Safety Culture

  • Maintain an active presence on project sites to support employees and reinforce COMANCO's culture and expectations.
  • Assist with safety observations, inspections, meetings, and employee coaching.
  • Support OSHA and MSHA compliance initiatives.
  • Help facilitate the use of safety tools and technology, including HCSS Safety.
  • Participate in pre-job planning and site-specific training activities.
  • Support incident follow-up and corrective action initiatives.
  • Build positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, customers, and project teams.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain employee development records, reports, and tracking systems.
  • Assist with reporting and presentations related to employee development and safety initiatives.
  • Support employee training and development programs through effective organization and communication.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and special projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to job sites.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience in employee development, training, safety, construction operations, human resources, workforce development, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
