Employee Development Coach

As an employee development coach, you will provide personalized growth opportunities for more than 2,100 employees, including courses, workshops, coaching sessions, assessments, and applied research. You will create hundreds of opportunities for employees across all SCAD locations and formats, offer professional and leadership coaching to employees and university leaders, and support the university community through various training and development programs. These offerings - such as courses, workshops, coaching sessions, and their related materials - will be accessible both in person and online. Offerings include, but are not limited to, Leadership Playbook courses, the C-to-C mentoring program, SCAD Start employee orientation, assessments, annual meetings and retreats, and ad hoc development requests. Projects will align learning and development solutions for faculty, staff, and university leaders.

As a member of the employee development team, you will contribute to SCAD's mission by helping to develop and retain talent. You will collaborate on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative training and leadership programs. Among other duties, you will manage and carry out deliverables, track progress, and report on project status, timelines, and action items. Responsibilities include coordination with subject matter experts to ensure the quality and relevance of development content and the maintenance of learning resources, including training manuals, job aids, and online materials.

In this position, you will support the preparation and delivery of training programs, including staff development, leadership development, internal training, and coaching and mentoring initiatives. After implementing programs, you will assess their effectiveness through follow-up surveys and evaluations using Qualtrics and other tools. You will also research and respond to industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to incorporate them into programs.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. They can independently prioritize and manage projects efficiently. The candidate pays close attention to detail and exhibits an exceptional work ethic, consistently meeting expectations and deadlines. They work well both independently and as part of a team, cultivate positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and are committed to personal and professional integrity. Additionally, they have experience working in an innovative, fast-paced, and professional environment.

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient in public speaking and with professional presentation software like Keynote or PowerPoint
  • Experience communicating with diverse audiences within a university community
  • Extensive learning, development, and training experience, including one-on-one coaching and large-scale presentations

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver's license

Travel required:

  • 10-20%

Work hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
