Direct Hire- Onsite- Houston, TX- $100K-125K


Position Overview

The Benefits Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s employee benefits programs. This role ensures competitive, compliant, and cost-effective offerings that support employee wellbeing and align with business objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, vendor management experience, and a deep understanding of benefits strategy and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans
  • Lead annual open enrollment process, including planning, communication, and system coordination
  • Evaluate and recommend benefits strategies to remain competitive in the market while managing costs
  • Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party vendors
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Analyze benefits utilization, trends, and costs; provide reporting and recommendations to leadership
  • Partner with HR and leadership teams to align benefits offerings with employee needs and company goals
  • Support employee education and communication efforts regarding benefits programs
  • Maintain accurate benefits data and ensure system integrity within HRIS/payroll platforms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration or total rewards
  • Strong knowledge of benefits compliance regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA)
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and benefits renewals
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, UKG, Paycom, or similar)
  • Experience in multi-state or high-growth environments
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
