Overview
Join our team as a Mortuary Science Student/Intern and gain invaluable hands-on experience in the compassionate field of funeral service and mortuary science. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills in embalming, restorative art, casketing, and funeral arrangements while supporting families during their most difficult times. You will work alongside experienced professionals committed to excellence, integrity, and respectful service, all while advancing your education and career in mortuary science.
Responsibilities
Assist with preparation and embalming of human remains following established procedures and safety protocols
Support funeral planning by preparing caskets, vaults, and arranging transportation logistics
Participate in restorative art techniques to ensure respectful presentation of the deceased
Maintain proper documentation of all procedures and adhere to legal and ethical standards
Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely setup of funeral services and coordination with families
Uphold sanitation standards by cleaning and disinfecting mortuary equipment, tools, and workspaces
Engage in ongoing learning about mortuary science practices, laws, and industry regulations
Experience
Currently enrolled in or looking to enroll in an accredited mortuary science or funeral service program or related field
Prior experience or coursework related to anatomy, microbiology, or embalming is preferred but not required
Strong communication skills for interacting with clients sensitively and professionally
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
