Detailed Description
  • Maintains global and /or regional responsibility for strategic high dollar semiconductor commodity or equivalent for price/value determination, product and/or service negotiations, terms, and conditions.
  • Develops and implements a procurement strategy for the commodities manage including technology direction, supplier analysis, development and selection and pricing strategy.
  • Acts as primary interface with Celestica's suppliers for all relationship management, contract negotiation, establishing the business framework for transactions, performance reviews, business development and supplier awards programs.  
  • Sources all products and services, maintaining a continuity of supply, while delivering the lowest cost component or service solution. 
  • Provides global sites direction and performance reporting for cost analysis to senior management. 
  • Leads negotiations for commodities managed, providing guidance on negotiations strategy and negotiations planning, developing a commodity strategy, and presentations / communication of consistent message to suppliers.  
  • Has frequent interaction and negotiation with senior executives of industry leading multi-national companies.
  • Manages the Global Commodity Negotiation process ensuring accurate forecasting and pricing accuracy.
  • Manages data flow for pricing fluctuations in market and analytical tools including development and maintenance of Commodity Management systems applications
  • Conducts strategic analysis on pricing, the market, suppliers, customers, competitors, contracts and long-term agreements.
  • May act as site liaison to manage critical shortage, develop strategies on constrained commodities and represent site to manage related systems changes that have broad effect on execution of purchasing responsibilities. 
  • Drives process improvement, leads development of IT tools for group, defines business processes and implements new tools/ processes. 
  • Performs bid activity for sensitive/highly visible complex bids. 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years in Commodity Management. Experience in managing high dollar semiconductor commodity or equivalent electronics components highly advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of the marketplace conditions on high dollar semiconductor commodity or equivalent electronics. 
  • Good understanding of global business environment and high dollar semiconductor suppliers' business, organization, products and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of office systems and analytical tools.
  • Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
  • Strong ability to work effectively across internal functions to achieve Celestica's goals.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a typical office environment.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or numbers and other detailed data.

  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Commerce or Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation Data

The salary range is between $122,000 and $168,000 USD

Location: This is a remote position, with travel as necessary.
