Job Summary
The sky is no longer the limit as Nidec takes its technology off the ground and into the Aerospace market. As a Commodity Manager with the Nidec Aerospace team, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise to build the supply base for electric propulsion systems for the battery-powered aircrafts that will enable the world to sustainably and efficiently get from point A to point B.

Job Description
As a Commodity Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement activities related to the sourcing of PCBA's, electronics, electrical and mechanical components.
Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA
Your activities will entail:
  • Managing supply chains, sourcing, reviewing, and buying commodities such as PCBA's, electronics, electrical and mechanical components.
  • Perform cost analysis using the concepts of "Should Cost", "TCO", others
  • Evaluating and prospecting in the market supply base expansion
  • Negotiating long term agreement to maximize sourcing potential
  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and distributors
  • Analyzing market trends and identifying risks
  • Adhering to project-approved budgets
  • Resolving vendor conflicts and commodity-related issues
  • Work with NPD (new product development) team members to insure fast and seamless introduction of new designs to full production
  • Interfacing with Production, Planning, QA, Sales, Engineering to achieve the smooth flow of goods and services in order to maintain committed schedules to customers
  • Support NPD team with component costing throughout the life of the project.
  • Build pipeline of cost reduction opportunities for parts used in production by conducting cross functional workshops throughout Nidec Aerospace and help implement them.

Minimum Requirements (Education, Skills, Experience and Proficiency Levell)
  • Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing goods and services in a Program Development and in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience negotiating long term supply agreements in Industrial or Aerospace markets. Background in electronics and electrical-mechanical industry.
  • Proven minimum of 8 years' experience in Procurement.
  • U.S. Visa and Passport required
  • English Proficient
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a large corporate matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve personal and company stretch goals.
  • Excellent communication skills; demonstrated experience giving presentations to upper management.
  • Knowledge of financial markets that impact commodity prices
  • Experience with commodity trading and risk management software
  • Negotiation and communication skills with vendors and suppliers
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Strong leadership abilities and collaboration with personnel from various departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package.
    • Proficiency in SAP.
