Job description

Overview
DecisionPoint seeks E-EFMP Business Analysts to support requirements documentation, sprint artifacts, user-facing materials, and release documentation for a large federal and DoD-aligned IT mission environment. These roles gather and refine requirements, document user stories, support Agile ceremonies, and produce user guides, API documentation, and release notes that enable clear understanding and successful adoption of E-EFMP system enhancements.
E-EFMP Business Analysts collaborate closely with product owners, developers, testers, cybersecurity specialists, and cloud engineers to ensure requirements are understood, validated, and accurately translated into actionable deliverables.
These positions are fully remote.
Duties & Responsibilities
The E-EFMP Business Analyst will:
  • Document functional and technical requirements gathered from users, stakeholders, and mission owners.
  • Write and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting sprint artifacts.
  • Produce and maintain detailed release notes covering new features, enhancements, and resolved issues.
  • Develop and update user guides, onboarding materials, help documentation, and training materials.
  • Document API specifications, request/response schema, integration notes, and usage instructions.
  • Create workflow diagrams, process maps, and system interaction documentation.
  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirements clarification sessions.
  • Validate requirement completeness through collaboration with developers, QA testers, and cybersecurity teams.
  • Manage documentation repositories, version control, and content organization standards.
  • Assist with UAT planning, test case documentation, and user acceptance execution.

Qualifications
Clearance Requirement
Must hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation.
Education (Required)
Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience (Required)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Writer, or related documentation professional.
  • Experience documenting requirements, workflows, user stories, and system specifications.
  • Experience creating user guides, release notes, and API documentation.
  • Experience supporting Agile software development environments.
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge (Required)
  • Strong understanding of requirements analysis, documentation methodologies, and Agile delivery.
  • Ability to produce clear, structured, and technically accurate documentation.
  • Familiarity with API concepts and integration documentation.

Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile toolsets.
  • Familiarity with DoD or federal IT environments.

Certifications (Preferred)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation
  • Agile or Scrum certifications (CSM, CSPO, etc.)
  • Technical writing or business analysis certifications

Skills
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to translate complex technical content into clear, understandable documentation.
  • Strong facilitation and requirements-gathering skills.
