Full-time, year-round, 1.0 FTE Special Education Supervisor.
Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Special Education Supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of early childhood special education, including relevant laws, programming, and services. This role requires a collaborative outlook, solution-focused mindset, strong leadership skills, and proficiency in utilizing technology. In addition to expertise in early childhood special education, the candidate should have a broader knowledge of all areas within special education. Effective communication skills, solid time management, and a thorough understanding of due process are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Supervision:
    • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of ECSE programs and services.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing early childhood special education.
    • Collaborate with the early childhood administrator and other stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality services for young learners with special needs.
    • Support staff in attendance and membership requirements and reporting
  • District Special Education:
    • Collaborate with district special education administrators to support effective programming and services district wide
    • Contribute to the development of district-wide special education programs, professional development and curriculum implementation
    • Collaborate with Intermediate District 288 for setting IV special education programming
    • Supervision of special education related services teams
    • Supervision and support of district 504 plan implementation
  • Collaborative Leadership:
    • Foster a collaborative environment among special education teachers, support staff, and district colleagues.
    • Work closely with general education staff to promote inclusive practices and a supportive learning environment for all students.

    • Utilize technology to streamline administrative tasks and enhance communication within the special education department.
    • Stay abreast of technological advancements and incorporate relevant tools to improve program efficiency.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Effectively communicate with parents, teachers, support staff, and district administrators.
    • Present information in a clear and concise manner during meetings and training sessions.
  • Due Process:
    • Ensure a thorough understanding of due process procedures and compliance in special education.
    • Provide guidance and support in the resolution of any due process issues.

Qualifications:

  • Special Education teaching license
  • Director of Special Education license
  • Substantial experience in early childhood special education.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of special education laws and due process procedures.

Compensation Package:

  • $85,440 - $141,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
