Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (PM) with deep K-12 education domain expertise to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives involving curriculum platforms, content, assessments, data integrations, and analytics.
This role requires a hands-on delivery leader who is fluent in Agile methodologies, highly proficient in Jira, and capable of coordinating work across product, engineering, data, QA, platform, and customer success teams. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of experience with additional experience in K-12 education projects, understands K-12 data structures and personas, and can drive predictable delivery in a SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of K-12 EdTech projects, from initiation through release and post-launch validation
  • Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, dependencies, and release schedules
  • Manage scope, risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple teams and vendors
  • Drive predictable execution and on-time delivery for complex, multi-stream initiatives
  • Apply Agile principles to support iterative delivery while maintaining delivery discipline
  • Facilitate and support Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives)
  • Own Jira project configuration, workflows, boards, and dashboards
  • Ensure Epics, Stories, and Tasks are well-structured, prioritized, and execution-ready
  • Track and report on delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time, blockers)
  • Manage projects involving:
    • Curriculum platforms and instructional content
    • Assessments (standards-based)
    • Standards alignment and curriculum mapping (state, district, national standards)
    • K-12 personas (students, teachers, administrators, curriculum leaders)
    • Third-party data integrations
    • K-12 data structures (enrollments, rosters, grades, assessments, standards)
    • Analytics and reporting initiatives (usage, outcomes, compliance, adoption)
  • Ensure solutions align with real-world instructional workflows and district needs
  • Translate academic and operational requirements into actionable delivery plans
  • Serve as the primary delivery liaison between Product, Engineering, Data, QA, Platform, and Customer Success
  • Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders and leadership
  • Coordinate customer-facing timelines, onboarding milestones, and go-live readiness
  • Support change management and release communication efforts

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 8+ years of experience managing large team projects.
  • Prefer deep experience within K-12 EdTech
  • Proven experience delivering SaaS-based curriculum, content, and assessment focused platforms
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, hybrid Agile)
  • Advanced proficiency with Jira for project and delivery management
  • Hands-on experience with K-12 data integration projects (APIs, data pipelines)
  • Deep understanding of:
    • K-12 data models and analytics
    • Curriculum standards and mapping
    • Assessment systems and reporting
    • K-12 personas and stakeholder workflows
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with district, state, or multi-district implementations
  • Familiarity with FERPA, student data privacy, and EdTech compliance considerations
  • Experience coordinating platform, data, and analytics initiatives
  • Background working in regulated or enterprise SaaS environments
  • PMP, Agile, or Scrum certifications (nice to have, not required)
  • Projects are delivered predictably, with clear visibility and minimal surprises
  • Cross-functional teams are aligned and unblocked
  • Jira reflects reality and provides accurate execution insight
  • K-12 stakeholders feel understood and supported
  • Data, analytics, and curriculum initiatives launch with clarity and confidence
