Job description

Role: Project Manager – EduTech

Location: Atlanta, GA

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and drive key EduTech initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep domain knowledge of digital learning platforms, curriculum technology, and stakeholder management within an education environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, agile setting and can manage cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end project management for EduTech product implementations, platform rollouts, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

 

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders including academic leadership, curriculum designers, IT teams, and executive sponsors.
  • Manage relationships with third-party EdTech vendors, LMS providers, and technology partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings, steering committee reviews, and executive briefings.

 

EduTech Domain Delivery

  • Oversee deployment and adoption of Learning Management Systems (LMS), student information systems (SIS), or other ed-tech platforms.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, content teams, and IT to ensure seamless integration of digital tools into learning environments.
  • Champion change management efforts to drive faculty, staff, and student adoption of new technologies.

 

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including charters, RAID logs, status reports, and lessons learned.
  • Track and report KPIs, budget utilization, and delivery metrics to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, data privacy regulations (FERPA, COPPA), and client quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 2 years in Education Technology, EdTech SaaS, or K–12/Higher Education environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing LMS implementations (Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, Schoology, or similar) or digital learning platform rollouts.
  • Strong proficiency in project management methodologies – Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency with PM tools such as MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar.
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with student data systems, academic analytics platforms, or ed-tech APIs and integrations.
  • Familiarity with FERPA, COPPA, and other education-specific data privacy frameworks.
  • Background in instructional design, curriculum technology, or digital content delivery.
  • Experience working within large K–12 districts, university systems, or EdTech companies serving these markets.
  • Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile certification is a plus.
  • Change management experience (Prosci/ADKAR) is an advantage.
