This role serves as a cross-functional project leader and Scrum Master supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of educational products-from initial setup through product changes and eventual deactivation. Partnering closely with Editorial, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Product teams, this individual ensures that product decisions are translated into clear, executable workstreams and accurately reflected across systems.

The role combines project management discipline with agile facilitation, driving visibility, accountability, and efficiency across complex, interdependent workflows. It plays a critical role in maintaining product data integrity, enabling operational readiness, and ensuring a seamless customer experience. This position supports the Executive Director of Product Data Integrity in driving both near- and long-term excellence in product configuration, data integrity, and operational efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Project Leadership

  • Facilitate product setup, updates, and deactivation initiatives across Editorial, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Product teams

  • Translate business requirements received through JIRA intake into structured epics and tasks, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and dependencies in accordance with established SOPs.

  • Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, tradeoffs, and misaligned deliverables; escalate issues to PR Managers for resolution.

Agile Facilitation & JIRA Ownership

  • Serve as Scrum Master for PDI departmental workflows, aligning work to sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives

  • Manage and optimize JIRA boards and workflows to ensure clear prioritization, transparency, and execution discipline

  • Drive accountability for task completion and ensure work is progressing in alignment with committed timelines

  • Report on velocity and capacity metrics to set clear expectations and inform resource adjustments

  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to JIRA dashboards and metric reporting related to PDI departmental performance (e.g., cycle time, throughput, backlog health, SLA adherence)

  • Proactively identify trends, surface risks, and drive data-informed actions to improve execution and operational outcomes

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce cycle times, and eliminate redundant or manual work

  • Support continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned into future workflows and planning

Product Setup & Data Integrity Execution

  • Oversee the intake, tracking, and execution of product configurations, changes, and deactivations across systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite) via JIRA intake

  • Ensure all product setup activities are complete, accurate, and aligned with operational and reporting requirements, and advance epics and tasks through completion as required

Stakeholder Communication & Alignment

  • Act as a central point of coordination across functions, ensuring stakeholders are informed, aligned, and engaged

  • Communicate timelines, impacts, and dependencies clearly, particularly where changes affect fulfillment, pricing, or customer experience

  • Partner with peer managers to align priorities and resource allocation across concurrent initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of project management experience in educational publishing, edtech, or related industries

  • 2+ years of experience working in agile environments (Scrum Master or equivalent role)

  • Hands-on experience with JIRA (or similar tools) for workflow and backlog management

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing complex, interdependent projects

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with product setup, configuration, or data management in systems such as Salesforce or NetSuite

  • Background in supply chain, operations, or product lifecycle management

  • Familiarity with print production, digital products, or instructional materials

  • Experience driving process improvement or operational efficiency initiatives

  • Working knowledge of financial concepts (e.g., cost structures, margin considerations)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy

Key Competencies

  • Cross-functional leadership and influence without authority

  • Agile mindset with a focus on execution and continuous improvement

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Operational rigor and attention to detail

  • Ability to bring structure and clarity to complex workflows

Compensation:
The hourly rate range for this role is $36.00-$44.00.
