Responsibilities
The Program Manager oversees the development, management, and delivery of the Berkeley Business Academy for Youth (B-BAY) virtual programs, which provide high school students with remote, hands-on learning in entrepreneurship and business fundamentals. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of the program, including curriculum support, student engagement, instructor and staff coordination, program operations, communications, and evaluation. This role ensures that B-BAY's virtual programs are well organized, engaging, and aligned with the program's broader mission of introducing students to entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and the Berkeley Haas learning community.
Oversees the development and management of the multiple, virtual High School & Middle School programs - 30%
- Attract a diverse group of highly qualified students who apply to and ultimately enroll in B-BAY programs by marketing the program to likely enrollees, including reading and scoring student program applications.
- Identify and procure all necessary forms, waivers, and instructional materials to ensure student participants and volunteers comply with all UC safety procedures and Risk Management protocols.
- Ensure adherence to budget, including tracking operational expenditures to meet revenue generation goals.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy spanning fall and spring semesters, including regular program updates, newsletters, and promotional content for students, alumni, and the Haas community.
- Recruit faculty, PhD students, outside lecturers, and volunteers to deliver program content.
- Develop and continuously refine extensive and comprehensive curriculum materials for segments not taught by faculty, and syllabus for B-BAY academic year programs (fall and spring semesters).
- Research, evaluate, and implement edtech learning and instruction technologies to enhance program delivery and student engagement.
- Stay current on emerging educational technology trends and lead implementation and training for adopted technologies.
- Observe and solicit ongoing feedback from all B-BAY academic year programs and make recommendations for future programming.
- Collaborate with B-BAY Program Director and Summer Program Manager on all aspects of the program, including syllabus development, student marketing/recruitment, application review, remote instruction platform delivery, and faculty liaison.
- Identify, hire, and supervise B-BAY program staff who aid in program execution.
- Recruit volunteers who help deliver the B-BAY program, including undergraduate, MBA, and PhD students, as well as Boost@Haas participants.
- Provide extensive ongoing leadership, coaching, training, and support to B-BAY volunteers, faculty, and staff to ensure they understand youth development best practices, deliver programs that meet B-BAY's goals, and function smoothly as teams.
- Identify, recommend, and supervise work-study students who aid in administrative tasks.
- Develop and maintain engagement with B-BAY alumni network through targeted outreach and communications
- Manage social media presence and digital content
- Create opportunities for alumni involvement in current programming as mentors, speakers, or volunteers
- Represent B-BAY within the Haas community and at relevant events

Required Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge and experience in business, finance or entrepreneurship and/or youth development.
- Comprehensive experience advising and supporting students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers.
- Advanced knowledge of up-to-date information on K-12 and higher education policies and issues. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies.
- Advanced knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population. Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status.
- Knowledge of and/or ability to learn common University-specific computer application programs (e.g. Canvas, Canva, Airtable, Slack, STOVA, Microsoft suite, Google suite) and knowledge of and/or ability to learn University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
- High-level skills in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.
- Advanced skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of K-12 and higher education policies and issues, assesses their impact on program strategies, disseminates information to school-site and district personnel.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments and manage multiple critical projects with deadlines. Strong project management skills.

This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, which is paid monthly at an annual rate and is eligible for UC Benefits. This is an on-campus position.

It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted annual range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $77,000.00 - $103,800.00.
