Position:   Language Arts Teacher 0.4 FTE
Location:  Tartan High School
Start date:  August 17 or August 24, 2026

Required Qualifications:





  1. Valid Minnesota Teaching License in English/Language Arts or Communication Arts/Literature for grades 9-12
  2. Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate positively as part of a team
  3. Strong communication skills and use of communication tools to effectively connect with students, teachers, guardians, and administration.
  4. Demonstrate high professional standards and work ethic.
  5. Experience with conflict resolution strategies, behavior management, trauma-informed care, and/or knowledge of crisis response.
  6. Experience with technology (Google, Infinite Campus, Edmentum, Schoology, Apex)
  7. Experience and flexibility in differentiated instruction and accommodations for a variety of student needs.
  8. Ability to effectively work with students from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and a variety of academic and behavioral needs.
  9. Desire to engage in ongoing professional development and implementation around best practices for student success.
  10. Experience with digital learning management platforms, such as Edmentum, Schoology or Apex. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Plan, implement, adapt, evaluate and teach courses
  • Teach and monitor classes daily on campus, may teach additional licensed subject areas and in a variety of ways (online classes or support, in-person classes or support, small group instruction, 1:1, support students in the Alternative to Suspension Programs, etc.)
  • Develop curriculum map, syllabi, and lesson plans linked to standards
  • Advise a cohort of students as an academic mentor and establish partnerships with guardians.
  • Provide Multilingual Learners and Learners with Individualized Educational Plans additional supports and accommodations.
  • Collaborate and cooperate with colleagues and administrators.
  • Create a positive and respectful work climate and establish positive connections with students, colleagues, and guardians.
  • Provide supervision and support of students throughout the school day.
  • Other related duties as assigned. 


Desired Qualifications:
1)       Experience teaching Advanced Placement courses.
