STARTING WAGE: $75,660+ annually (based on experience)
This position is full time, 225 days per year.
SUMMARY:
The College, Career, and Life Readiness Coordinator, a member of the high school staff, is charged with the support of students in grades 6-12 in their efforts to engage in rigorous and relevant coursework, career-based learning opportunities, and experiences that are enriching, challenging, and directly connected to the career, college, and life success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Serve as the team lead to ensure collaboration with teachers, counselors, and administrators to successfully implement the Academic and Career Planning framework with a focus on STEM/CTE pathways.
- Work with academic departments to develop career academies (ACCEL), and develop a communications plan so students and families are aware of different options.
- Develop a communications plan for students and families regarding the dual enrollment programs like the Early College Credit Program, Start College Now, and Madison College STEM program and manage enrollment in courses being attended outside of the district
- Forge positive working relationships with local businesses in order to provide opportunities for place-based learning - including coordinating guest speakers, site-based job shadowing, project development and place-based mentorships [student focused]
- Promote work-based learning experiences and internships (including Youth Apprenticeship) for high school students that are aligned to their career plans by establishing business partnerships, communicating options to students and families, and monitoring success of such placements through an active communication network between teacher, student, parent, mentor, and district
- Assess needs including the following: student needs and interests, labor market information, local economic development, and job creation
- Coordinate the school to work program; cooperative educational service agencies; vocational, technical and adult education systems; universities; and local, county, and state job training programs
- Co-facilitate the middle to high school transition process in collaboration with high school counselors. Oversee the coordination between middle and high school ACP programming and support for students in grades 6-8.
- Expand STEM opportunities for students by growing and developing computer science and engineering coursework
- Collaborate with the District-wide CTE Coordinator to ensure equity and access to CTE programming for students in grades 6-12.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As assigned in accordance with the district's policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in vocational programs or related fields and six to eight years of experience in related fields and/or teaching.
COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, and the community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Ability to draw and interpret graphs and spreadsheets. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
ANALYTICAL AND REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in a specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in written and verbal communications. Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all district requirements and School Board policies. Ability to use technology to accomplish job responsibilities that may include basic knowledge of e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Shall complete a physical examination as required by Wisconsin Statute 118.25.
