FUNCTION: James Fisher Technologies (JFT) is seeking an experienced ERP Systems Manager. The ERP Systems Manager is responsible for the overall administration, optimization, and long-term success of James Fisher Technologies’ Epicor Kinetic ERP system. This role serves as the internal system owner and subject matter expert, ensuring the ERP platform effectively supports Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Operations.

The ERP Systems Manager partners with business leaders to continuously improve business processes, implement new functionality, manage system upgrades, and maximize the value of the company’s ERP investment. This individual will reduce reliance on outside consultants by developing deep internal expertise in Epicor Kinetic and related business applications.


REPORTING TO: Chief Technical Officer



Requirements:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

ERP System Ownership

  • Serve as the primary administrator and owner of the Epicor Kinetic ERP system.
  • Maintain system configuration, security, user access, workflows, dashboards, and business rules.
  • Develop and maintain ERP governance, standards, and documentation.
  • Monitor overall system health, performance, and data integrity.
  • Partner closely with the ERP Project Manager throughout implementation to build deep working knowledge of the system configuration and design decisions ahead of go-live and long-term ownership, including support for data migration review and cleansing.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes through ERP functionality.
  • Partner with department leaders to understand operational needs and recommend solutions.
  • Evaluate new Epicor features, modules, and third-party applications.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, automation, and data accuracy.

Upgrades & Enhancements

  • Plan, test, and coordinate Epicor upgrades, patches, and new releases.
  • Develop testing plans and coordinate user acceptance testing.
  • Manage change control and production deployments.
  • Minimize business disruption during system changes.

Business Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Project Management.
  • Translate business requirements into system solutions.
  • Prioritize enhancement requests and manage the ERP development roadmap.
  • Ensure system capabilities align with business objectives.

Manufacturing Process Support

  • Support ERP processes across core manufacturing functions, including production management, job management, planning and scheduling, inventory and warehouse management, purchasing, quality assurance, engineering change management, and shipping and fulfillment.
  • Ensure ERP processes and configurations align with operational objectives and manufacturing best practices.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, BAQs, SSRS and Power BI reports, and other business intelligence tools.
  • Deliver KPI visibility across areas such as inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, production efficiency, work-in-process, labor utilization, and financial performance.
  • Support management reporting and operational decision-making.
  • Promote data accuracy and consistent reporting across departments.

Integrations

  • Manage integrations between Epicor and other business systems, including scheduling, CRM, payroll, document management, and reporting platforms.
  • Work with internal IT staff and external partners on API development and system integrations.
  • Ensure data flows remain reliable and secure.

User Support & Training

  • Provide advanced user support and troubleshooting.
  • Develop user documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Train new employees and power users.
  • Promote adoption of ERP best practices throughout the organization.

Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Epicor and implementation partners for ongoing support and enhancement engagements following go-live; during implementation, this relationship is led by the ERP Project Manager.
  • Manage support cases and consulting engagements.
  • Evaluate consulting needs and oversee outside resources when necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Accounting, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years administering or supporting an ERP system.
  • Experience implementing or supporting ERP upgrades and enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and business operations.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in a government contracting or DCAA/FAR-compliant environment.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171 requirements and the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), including an understanding of how ERP systems support compliance, data protection, user access controls, and audit requirements.

Preferred

  • Direct experience with Epicor Kinetic.
  • Experience in engineer-to-order or project-based manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting accounting and finance processes.
  • Knowledge of production scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, quality, and project accounting.
  • Familiarity with SQL, BAQs, BPMs, dashboards, SSRS, REST APIs, Power BI, or similar reporting and integration tools.
