Who is Rockwell Automation University (RAU)
The Rockwell Automation University (RAU) School of Technology is a team that serves all Rockwell Automation (RA) and its selling channels by raising the competency level of hands-on technical resources. Roles within RAU can provide you with exciting opportunities:

  • Opportunity to support ongoing technical content development for hands-on audiences and interact with RA technical and solution consultants, field service and remote support engineers, project engineers, end-users, distributor specialists, certified system integrators, and more.

Summary
Rockwell Automation University provides comprehensive training and learning for our employees, partners, and customers to improve their skillsets. Our goal is to upskill engineers through a mix of formal learning either via eLearning, instructor-led, virtual training, and more. We are looking for an engineer who will develop and deliver technical training on Rockwell Automation Drives products. Most RAU staff are in Cleveland, with additional staff located in Milwaukee, Mequon, and Poland.
You will report into the Supervisor, RAU Delivery and be located in our Mayfield Heights facility. You will work on a hybrid basis as the needs of the role allow.
What You Will Do
You will focus on educating Rockwell Automation engineers and Rockwell Automation distributor partners on PowerFlex Drive products. Specifically upskilling these stakeholders on the skills needed to support sales, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot. To do so, you will:
  • Work with RAU Delivery Leaders, Development Leaders, and Project Managers to understand training needs of the stakeholders
  • Be highly tied into the product businesses to develop and deploy world class training to RA employees, partners, and customers
  • Understand our audience needs
  • Develop training materials for eLearning, remote instructor lead, or in classroom formats to suit the needs of each audience through technical writing, interactive presentations, and other learning practices
  • Deliver specific training in a classroom or virtual classroom to achieve learning objectives
  • Work with supervisor and business to identify personnel to prepare for and staff training events
  • Help manage our Mayfield Heights Drives lab and equipment alongside our other drives' SME and RAU technicians.

Skills You Have
  • Experience with Drive products such as PowerFlex 525, 753, 755, and 755TS, 755TL, 755TR and 755TM (all models), and Studio 5000 Logix Designer.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the development and deployment of applications involving drives; this includes basic application design and troubleshooting level knowledge aligned to customer outcomes
  • Define concise learning objectives given internal training and guidance
  • Develop and deliver technical training to achieve specified learning objectives
  • Train and mentor others through content creation and personal interaction
  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing requirements and interests, with focus on top priorities, finding opportunities to achieve win-win or obtain acceptance/consensus to compromise
  • Successfully work across organizational boundaries
  • Experience speaking in front of small and large groups and ability to write & maintain technical documentation
  • Participate in customer-facing engagements to develop expertise in customer requirements of products, technologies, and solutions
  • Conduct technical training for internal employees and partners in the use of company products, applications, solutions, and troubleshooting
  • Be a technical mentor, adviser, etc. For students, RAU, and shared labor resources

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required- we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
  • Travel 15% of time, domestic or international

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in Rockwell Automation drives products. This includes sales, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
