Job description

At Accenture Federal Services, nothing matters more than helping the US federal government make the nation stronger and safer and life better for people. Our 13,000+ people are united in a shared purpose to pursue the limitless potential of technology and ingenuity for clients across defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health organizations.
Join Accenture Federal Services, a technology company within global Accenture. Recognized as a Glassdoor Top 100 Best Place to Work, we offer a collaborative and caring community where you feel like you belong and are empowered to grow, learn and thrive through hands-on experience, certifications, industry training and more.
Join us to drive positive, lasting change that moves missions and the government forward!

Job Description:

Accenture Federal Services is looking for a DevSecOps (DSO) Functional Analyst to serve as the critical bridge between our centralized DevSecOps platform team and our diverse application development teams. In a complex, multi-cloud environment, the "technical" part of the equation is only half the battle—the other half is ensuring our tools are usable, adopted, and solving the right problems. Your mission is to translate high-level security and engineering requirements into actionable roadmaps while driving a culture of "Security by Design" across the enterprise. You will be the "Voice of the Customer" (the App Teams) for the DSO engineers and the "Champion of Best Practices" for the developers.

Work you'll do:

  • Work directly with application teams to understand their CI/CD pain points, deployment hurdles, and unique architectural needs.
  • Identify where the current DSO platform falls short of application requirements and collaborate with DSO engineers to prioritize feature development.
  • Develop and execute strategies to migrate legacy applications into the modern DSO ecosystem, ensuring teams see the value rather than just the "compliance hurdle."
  • Support functional workflows across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, ensuring a consistent developer experience regardless of the underlying cloud provider.
  • Create "Golden Path" documentation, self-service guides, and onboarding playbooks that make it easy for teams to do the right thing securely.
  • Establish formal mechanisms (surveys, working groups, office hours) to ensure the DSO roadmap stays aligned with the evolving needs of the business.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Having worked as a Functional Analyst, Product Owner, or Systems Analyst role, specifically within DevOps or application development environments.
    • Strong functional understanding of DevSecOps pillars:
      • CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins)
      • Security Scanning (SAST, DAST, SCA)
      • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
      • Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker)

Bonus points if you have:

  • Technical background (e.g., prior experience as a developer or sysadmin) to maintain credibility with engineering stakeholders.
  • Experience with automated security tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA, and IaC scanning).
  • Familiarity with the SDLC, OWASP Top 10, and NIST frameworks.
  • Certification in Cloud (AWS Solutions Architect, etc.) or Security (CISSP, CISM).
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a product focused mindset.
  • Strong communication and client facing consulting skills.
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cloud Fluency: Understanding of multi-cloud architectures and the functional differences between major providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proven track record of leading organizational change or large-scale tool adoption programs.
  • Proven experience acting as a liaison between deep technical teams and product-focused application teams.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
  • Deep experience writing high-quality User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and managing complex backlogs in Jira.

Security clearance:

  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance is required; and must be able and willing to upgrade to TS/SCI with Poly.
