Position Overview
The Strategic Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth, expanding market presence, and strengthening long-term customer relationships within a defined multi-state territory. This role requires a highly disciplined, relationship-driven sales professional who can operate autonomously while remaining fully aligned with Door Controls USA's sales strategy, operational standards, and core values.
Success in this role is measured not only by sales results, but by professionalism, accountability, communication, and the ability to represent Door Controls USA as a trusted industry partner.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
  • Actively promote, present, and sell automatic door parts, hardware, and related solutions through in-person visits, phone calls, and virtual meetings.
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan focused on revenue growth, margin improvement, and account penetration.
  • Identify, prospect, and convert new accounts while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Understand and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close and post-sale follow-up.
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations tailored to customer needs and applications.

Territory & Travel Management
  • Maintain a minimum travel schedule of two weeks per month within the assigned territory.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute customer visits efficiently to maximize sales impact and territory coverage.
  • Prepare and submit customer trip reports for all account visits in accordance with company standards.

Account Management & Customer Experience
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Identify customer needs, resolve concerns, and coordinate internal resources to ensure satisfaction.
  • Communicate customer feedback, market intelligence, and competitive insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze account data and sales trends to develop action plans and growth strategies.

Internal Coordination & Reporting
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales, VP of Sales, Customer Relations, and ownership on pricing strategies, account plans, and policy alignment.
  • Accurately maintain CRM and other company systems with timely, complete sales and activity data.
  • Gather, enter, and manage all required work data electronically in Door Controls USA systems.
  • Prepare and submit expense reports in compliance with company policies.

Product & Industry Knowledge
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of Door Controls USA products, services, applications, and industry standards.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer challenges, and competitor offerings.

Company Representation & Compliance
  • Uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain and safeguard company-issued equipment (computer, phone, etc.) and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support company objectives.

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on, but not limited to:

Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience (automatic door industry preferred)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the full sales cycle
  • Experience with Dynamics CRM and NAV is a plus
  • Relationship-based selling experience preferred (training available)
  • Knowledge of short and long sales cycles preferred (training available)

Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting, driving, and working on a computer
Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory
