Position Summary

As a Mitigation & Reconstruction Estimator / File Quality Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring restoration projects are accurately documented, properly scoped, and efficiently transitioned from mitigation to reconstruction.

This position combines restoration estimating, documentation quality control, and insurance coordination to support smooth project execution and timely billing. You’ll work closely with mitigation teams, project managers, insurance adjusters, subcontractors, and administrative staff to ensure files meet company and carrier standards while helping projects move forward efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct real-time mitigation file reviews using systems such as MICA, DASH, and Docusketch.
  • Verify scope accuracy, completeness of documentation, and proper capture of field data.
  • Identify documentation deficiencies that may delay billing, impact claim approval, or require return visits.
  • Perform comprehensive audits of job files to ensure compliance with company procedures and insurance carrier requirements.
  • Review and organize file notes, photographs, moisture documentation, and supporting records.
  • Prepare preliminary mitigation estimates using field documentation, Docusketch data, and restoration software.
  • Develop and review detailed mitigation and reconstruction estimates in Xactimate.
  • Assist with supplement preparation and communication with insurance carriers when necessary.
  • Support timely invoicing and revenue cycle management through accurate scope development.
  • Coordinate closely with mitigation, production, and administrative teams to ensure seamless project transitions.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, adjusters, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records within company systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of restoration, construction estimating, or related industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with insurance-based estimating and Xactimate preferred.
  • Familiarity with water, fire, mold, or storm restoration processes.
  • Understanding of residential and light commercial construction methods and materials.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with Docusketch, MICA, DASH, or similar restoration systems is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, professional, and team-oriented mindset.

Compensation
