The Estimator role is responsible for creating estimates in Xactimate utilizing the program guidelines and IICRC standards. The Estimator is responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for projects by evaluating materials, labor, time, supporting documentation and other necessary resources. This role involves collaborating with various departments to assess project requirements, conducting market pricing research, and ensuring that all estimates align with the company’s goals and industry standards.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare detailed estimates utilizing supporting documentation to ensure all project costs are captured appropriately.

2. Utilize photos, provided documentation and DocuSketch to create an accurate sketch of the affected areas.

3. Review all photos, scope notes and DocuSketch tours to understand the scope of work performed and calculate associated cost accordingly.

4. Ensure that estimates capture all project costs to include labor, materials, equipment, and other relevant expenses.

5. Review all SERVPRO guidelines and insurance requirements on a needed basis to ensure charges fall within the expected guidelines for auditing purposes.

6. Document any exceptions within operating systems to support charges for upload/ audit that may fall outside of guidelines but are accurately captured according to industry standards for the project.

7. Review and identify with management the need to negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing

8. Review all charges from vendors and subcontractors and ensure costs are captured appropriately to include allotted mark up.

9. Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure accurate and comprehensive cost evaluations.

10. Prepare and present bids or proposals, ensuring they are comprehensive and competitive within industry standards.

11. Work closely with project managers, Job File Coordinators and other relevant teams to ensure accurate information is used for estimates.

12. Maintain detailed records of all estimates, cost analyses, and bids, ensuring easy access for future reference.

13. Stay updated with industry trends, pricing, and technological advancements to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the estimating process.

14. Monitor file status to ensure final estimate completed and returned to office for timely billing upon completion of remediation services.

15. Perform the function of Clerical/Admin on Time and Materials projects as needed.

Qualifications

· High school diploma/ GED required

· Previous experience with estimating or project management required

· IICRC – WRT and FSRT certification required with the ability to obtain IICRC ASD certification within 6 months

· A minimum of 1 year Xactimate experience

· Xactimate certification highly preferred

Position Requirements

· Proficiency in Xactimate or equivalent estimating software

· Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to work independently

· Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask

· Exceptional customer service skills, strong administrative abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Proficiency in using various digital tools and technologies to complete job tasks efficiently
