Job description

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:
• Safety is our number one priority. This role will promote safety culture through safety toolbox talks, safety committee participation, & positive reinforcement programs.
• Develop and sustain the Quality Management System in line with industry requirements. Regulate, control, and improve the quality of all processes throughout the business and the final product. Manage an audit program to ensure compliance. Lead the team to achieve quality management system targets for customers and business goals.
• Direct quality team and provide one on one coaching for improvements and own responsibility for talent development.
• Manage the Quality Assurance department and staff, responsible for in-process inspections, receiving inspection, documentation of supplier certifications, part qualification, measurement, testing, and the calibration of gages and test equipment.
• Participate in daily Gemba walks that align with Kaizen continuous improvement processes.
• Provide leadership to promote quality assurance throughout the company with a continuous improvement approach to prevent defects and escapes.
• Investigate customer complaints regarding quality. Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare and organize all PPAP and other quality documents required for customers.
• Perform and support customer audits, surveys, and complaints and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customer specifications.
• Accountable for supplier quality. Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the suppliers manufacturing and quality systems. Provide guidance to suppliers.
• Manage non-conformances caused by suppliers. Coordinate and evaluate supplier corrective action requests (SCARs), drive root cause analysis and communicate with suppliers to obtain effective and timely corrective actions to prevent recurrence of product defects. Perform effectiveness review of the corrective or preventive actions.
• Manage the sample approval process to support supplier evaluation and source qualification. Provide guidance to suppliers regarding product requirements and manufacturing processes.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to establish the product quality control requirements for new products.
• Perform military part inspection using MIL specifications and sampling documents.
• Establish and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the quality performance of internal manufacturing, suppliers, out-of-the-box quality perceived by customers, and the health of the quality management system.
• Support key business initiatives that include housekeeping audits, 5S audits, and Voluntary Protection Partnership (OSHA).
• Facilitate appropriate meetings to communicate the health of our Quality Management System and trends to make necessary changes that support customer satisfaction.
