Medical Director (Urgent Care) - Sussex County, DE


Job Type: Full-Time | 75% Clinical, 25% Administrative
Schedule: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM (Mon - Fri)

Position Summary:
A growing multi-specialty outpatient healthcare group in Sussex County, DE is seeking a Medical Director to lead its Urgent Care division. The ideal candidate will oversee and direct the work of physicians, APPs, and medical assistants, while helping shape clinical protocols, improve quality metrics, and support team performance. This leadership role is ideal for a dynamic physician passionate about patient-centered, technology-driven care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical oversight and supervision for urgent care providers and staff

  • Develop and implement operational policies and clinical workflows

  • Initiate and monitor quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Work collaboratively with leadership across departments

  • Maintain a clinical caseload (approximately 75% of total time)

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with active Delaware medical license (or ability to obtain)

  • Board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with pediatric experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of urgent care or emergency medicine experience

  • Active DEA registration

  • ACLS & PALS certification required
