Job description

JOB SUMMARY:Perform maintenance activities such as repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment, facilities and power lift equipment. Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance practices.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adjust, repair and maintain production equipment using generally recognized maintenance practices. Perform periodic preventive maintenance activities. Assist operating personnel with running adjustments as instructed.
  • Know and apply mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance.
  • Regular attendance on the job, dependability and reliability are required.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Use basic hand and machine shop tools.
  • Understand and use the correct Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
  • Complete special maintenance assignments or other tasks as assigned.
  • Be trained and certified to operate powered fork trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Sense of ordinary care of tools and machines to keep them in a safe operating condition and prevent damage to them.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Added duties as needed.
  • Travel up to 10% between buildings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Know and apply mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic maintenance practices.
  • Read written specifications and instructions
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics and blueprints. Add, subtract, multiply and divide plain figures.
  • Ability to make frequent routine decisions of immediate importance.
  • Good coordination of hands, eyes and feet.
  • Ability to read labels and MSDS sheets of chemicals/solvents involved with.

  • Performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, feeling, lifting and grasping.
  • Ability to carry out detailed but written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical work exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and up to 20 lbs constantly
