Job description

Expectations:
  • Unload case goods, bedding and/or upholstered furniture using a two wheel hand cart and second person assistance when needed.
  • Stage and load/unload products for shipping or storage in the warehouse
  • Palletize product and box product when necessary.
  • Operate mobile lift equipment to bin product, place incoming product into the warehouse racks.
  • Based on assigned load sheet, retrieve product from aisle racks after cleared by scanner, and load trailer.
  • Pick-up breakage, miscellaneous wood, plastic and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Check for damaged product and do not load any damaged product for shipment to customer.
  • Interact and respond professionally to co-workers requests.
  • Meet established product rates and accuracy standards.
  • You must have excellent listening skills and the ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Perform additional functions that may be assigned at the discretion of management.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Work well with others and function in a team environment.
  • Safely operate all required equipment.
  • Must be able to move extremities and the spine through a functional range of motion allowing safe maneuvering of product from floor to overhead while material handling. The ability to work in awkward postures is occasionally required when performing all aspect of job.
  • Must have sufficient strength in the trunk and extremities to perform tasks in multiple positions from the floor to overhead while material handling.
  • Reaching- Associate must be able to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while material handling.
  • Handling- Associate must be able to seize, hold and grasp items typical of this job throughout the work period.
  • Fingering- Associate must be able to pinch and work primarily with the fingers throughout the workday.
  • Associate must demonstrate sufficient capacity to lift, carry and push-pull.
  • Associate must also possess excellent balance to maintain equilibrium in all positions.

*The Distribution Warehouse Associate at Raymour & Flanigan meets the minimal physical demands consistent with a classification of Very-HEAVY. This rating is set forth by The United States Department of Labor.

*As a Distribution Warehouse Associate, the associate is exposed to a few slip and trip hazards. Pallets on the floor, wet weather, cold/hot temperatures on the loading dock and out in the yard. Warehouse temperature is mechanically heated, not cooled. The worker is exposed to cold, as they are required to work in and out of unheated trailers.
