Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and competent individual to join our team as an Assistant Parts Manager. The successful candidate will assist the Parts Manager in overseeing the efficient operation of the parts department, including inventory management, customer service, and staff supervision. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Parts Manager in supervising the day-to-day operations of the parts department, ensuring that quality standards are met and customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and place orders to replenish inventory as needed.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of parts and accessories.
- Assist in pricing parts and maintaining competitive pricing strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries, offering product recommendations, and resolving any concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with the Parts Manager to develop and implement strategies to increase parts department sales and profitability.
- Support the Parts Manager in training and supervising parts department staff, including providing guidance, performance feedback, and ensuring that all employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Assist in managing warranty claims, return goods, and exchanges, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized parts department, ensuring that parts are properly stored, labeled, and easily accessible.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and technological advancements in the automotive/machinery industry to effectively assist customers and make informed recommendations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in automotive/machinery parts management is a plus.
- Prior experience in a parts department, preferably in the automotive/machinery industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive/machinery parts, equipment, and inventory management practices.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Parts Management Systems.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
