Distillation Operator
Location: Lakeland, FL, US
We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Distillation Operator to join our Operations Department at our Lakeland, FL site. Candidates must be willing to train on 1st shift and then be assigned to work on 3rd shift 10pm-7am
Under general supervision, perform the duties required for the distillation process according to Firmenich's safety, quality, housekeeping, service (punctuality) and cost standards.
Your key responsibilities
  • Responsible for the operation and monitoring of all Distillation equipment. This includes all associated tanks, pumps, and filtration equipment.
  • Responsible for start-up, monitoring and shutdown of Distillation utilities; cooling towers, glycol chillers, vacuum pump, air compressor, and computer control systems and responsible for transferring product to and from Distillation area and associated tank farms.
  • Proficient in the operation of Gas Chromatograph to monitor processes and evaluate product.
  • Maintains appropriate records, process orders, and log books of all work functions performed. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Labels, stores and performs inventory transfers of intermediate and finished products produced utilizing SAP.
  • Correctly complete written batch records, written shift change instructions, responsible for maintaining good GMP's and housekeeping and assist in the maintenance of required GMP and safety logs.

You bring
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years experience in distillation and extraction processes.
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of Distillation columns, process control systems (Delta V), lab analysis.
  • Ability to work with flammable liquids and work in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food Safety and other internal safety guidelines
  • Aptitude for mechanical work.
  • Work within a team environment where workplace respect is vital.

The salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly rate range $22.00-$26.00.
In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits. All benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
