Job description

OVERVIEW

PerfettiVanMelle (makers of Mentos and Airheads!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We're currently seeking passionate and enthusiastic Warehouse Associates to join our growing team.   

Starting Pay: $21.00

Hours: 5:00pm - 5:30am

12 Hour Continental - Rotating schedule for entire year - Work Half the Year!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a key member of our plant warehouse team, the Warehouse Associate coordinates the warehouse functions including performing shipping and receiving duties (both internal production and raw material items), managing dock appointments, completing accurate inventory counts as requested, and providing material support to production for manufacturing activities.

  • Provides the production control coordinator with complete list of all finished product shipment on scheduled shift.
  • Schedules incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Loads other shipments as required.
  • Receives, verifies and locates all incoming shipments.
  • Supports manufacturing process by supplying raw materials and packaging as required to production areas to ensure no production shut-downs.
  • Writes up all receipts of items coming into plant during scheduled shift.
  • Keeps an accurate record of all location move, receipts and finished product produced during scheduled shift.
  • Enters all receipts into system.
  • Provides inventory counts as required by purchasing.
  • Keeps warehouse and dock areas clean.
  • Operates all machinery required to achieve warehouse function.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
  • Forlift experience REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Previous manufacturing/warehouse/distribution experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work overtime hours, above your normal schedule, to meet customer's demands.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)- Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Uniform, Hairnet, Beard net, and Mask when required.
  • Occasional exposed to dusty conditions due to the handling of bulk products.  The employee must be able to wear and use breathing protection devices as required while working in these conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. 
  • Ability to occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to talk, hear, and smell.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally push/pull 350-pound carts with wheels.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Employee must be flexible in learning and working in other job functions to ensure a competent, trained workforce.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facilities required.
