Overview

We are seeking a Lien Resolution Specialist focused on resolving medical and nonmedical liens within the California workers’ compensation system. Prior California WC experience is not required. This role works as part of a lien resolution team, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving liens in partnership with branch claim teams, supporting timely, compliant, and costeffective outcomes.


How you'll make an impact
  • Review, analyze, and resolve California workers’ compensation liens in coordination with, and under the direction of, our Lien Resolution Specialist Lead.
  • Determine lien validity, jurisdiction, statute of limitations, and appropriate dispute resolution process (SBR, IBR, WCAB, or settlement).
  • Prepare and issue compliant payment determinations and supporting documentation.
  • Negotiate lien reductions and settlements consistent with California fee schedules, regulations, and claim strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory timelines and maintain auditready file documentation.
  • Coordinate with defense counsel and other external business partners when lien disputes require litigation or WCAB filing.

About You

Required: 

  • Two or more years of WC claim handling experience.
  • Ability to quickly gain knowledge of California lien laws, fee schedules, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a highvolume, deadlinedriven workload.
  • Experience collaborating with claims professionals and legal partners.

Preferred:

  • Dedicated lien unit or litigation support experience.
  • Familiarity with WCAB procedures.
  • SIP, WCCP, or similar professional designation.
