Empire Cooler Service has been the leading supplier of refrigeration and ice making equipment in the Chicago area since 1932. We lease and service equipment to the restaurants, hotels, hospitals, schools, warehouse, corporate office and more throughout the continental United States. We are a โ€œwhite-glove service companyโ€ whose goal is to anticipate and exceed our customer's needs in this ever-changing hospitality market.

Job Summary:

The Dispatcher will provide logistical support to technicians to help them manage their schedules so that we can continue to provide the high touch โ€œwhite gloveโ€ service that our customers expect of us. A major challenge for this position is remaining flexible to ensure that performance goals are met in spite of operational challenges such as: vehicle shortages, staffing levels, and inclement weather conditions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. The ability to respond to customer complaints and handle conflict in a professional and effective manner is essential.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:The Dispatcher will:
  • Schedule and maintain organized efficient routes that will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all service calls
  • Ensures techniciansโ€™ adherence to schedules
  • Provide status updates to our customers especially when changes or updating of routes may impact technician arrival time
  • Follow up with customers after service calls are closed to ensure they are 100% satisfied
  • Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Utilize problemsolving abilities along with a cando attitude to creatively โ€œthink outside of the boxโ€ when approach to issues presents a challenge.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate action plans for process improvement.
  • Minimum Job Experience and/or Training:
  • 35 yrs. experience as Route Scheduler / Dispatcher required
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Accuracy and high attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask various assignments
  • Selfstarter with above average work ethic, committed to entire team success.
  • Computer skills:
  • Highly Proficient level of knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Knowledge of dispatching software highly desirable; Experience with ESC a definite plus!
