Job Description

This position is in support of the County of Sarasota Florida to provide care for those with special needs who are displaced in the event of a largescale disaster. This position requires the individual to be able to respond to a disaster with in 24 hours of notice and to establish care with in 72 hours of notification. This is a post disaster mission and will require the individual to be onsite until conclusion of the operation.   

The primary function of the Medical Logistics Manager is to oversee and coordinate all aspects of material and logistics operations within the program, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of medical supplies and equipment while maintaining inventory and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accountability of materials in the warehouse as well as stock rooms at each medical location. 
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn US Government procurement systems and International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. procurement systems. 
  • Responsible for maintaining stock levels and ordering general supply consumables through the appropriate ordering system. 
  • Lead teams of logistics support staff on special training and process change implementation. 
  • Train new staff developing them for future deployments to supply support activities. 
  • Monitor, analyse, and maintain a tracking system for request orders (requisitions) from identification to receipt. 
  • Provided supply/operations analysis, supply chain management expertise, and logistics policy advice to management including staff recommendations. 
  • Monitor and maintain full visibility of acquisitions in various stages of the cycle in support of multiple contracts in multiple countries interacting with various customers daily. 
  • Maintain metrics and report to senior leadership on special projects and regular logistics activities. 
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and expedite acquisitions providing technical support and procedure implementation. 
  • Analyse situations accurately and recommend effective courses of action. 
  • Coordinate daily with requestors, cataloguing, purchasing, supply chain management groups. 
  • Assist in development and implementation of supply chain functions. 
  • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Experience Required: 

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in supply chain/logistics/warehousing. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Critical thinking skills. 
  • Cultural competency.  
  • Integrity and honesty. 

Education Required: 

  • High school degree or equivalent. 
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field such as business management or logistics management preferred. 

Required Licenses / Certifications: 

  • Basic Life Support. 
  • Current and valid driver's license.  

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Knowledge of, and moderate proficiency in, common Microsoft Office programs, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.  
  • Knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act) regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII). 
  • Demonstrate strong organization and time management skills. 
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Cultural competency and interpersonal skills. 

Duty Hours / ON-Call Requirements: 

  • This an upon notification position. 
  • Shifts will be 12 hours a day until complete. 
  • Will have on call responsibilities. 

Physical Demands: 

  • Physically capable of performing duties and responsibilities as listed above. 
  • Ability to work in an austere environment exposure to heat and weather. 
  • Frequent use of common office technology such as the computer, telephone etc.  
  • Ability to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.  
  • Ability to drive a vehicle on behalf of the company. 

Travel / Rotation Requirements: 

  • Travel to Sarasota upon notification.
