Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Lead the integration, continuous improvement, and long-term sustainability of Textron Aviation's disability management program, including wellness, leave management, workers' compensation, and reasonable accommodation strategies that support a healthy, productive, and resilient workforce. This role advances prevention, early intervention, and safe return-to-work practices through data-driven program design and continuous improvement initiatives. The Disability and Wellbeing Program Manager partners with Health Services, HR, onsite clinics, and business leaders to align wellness initiatives with disability risk reduction, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

         Serve as a functional subject matter expert in disability management, leave management, wellness and reasonable accommodation programs.

         Support the disability management strategy, including wellness, leave, return-to-work, workers' compensation, and accommodation programs.

         Integrate wellness programming with disability management and leave strategies to reduce preventable absences and improve employee outcomes.

         Lead local and enterprise wellness initiatives supporting injury prevention, chronic condition management, mental wellbeing, and early intervention.

         Identify and analyze trends across wellness utilization, disability, leave, and accommodations to inform targeted program improvements.

         Monitor program effectiveness using data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.

         Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to disability, leave, return-to-work, and accommodation processes.

         Drive projects that enhance the employee experience while supporting safe, timely, and sustainable return to work.

         Apply standard project management and change management methodologies to scale initiatives across the organization.

         Assist in facilitating the ADA interactive accommodation process, including permanent placement and vocational coordination efforts.

         Ensure compliance with ADA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, OSHA, EEOC, and related regulatory requirements.

         Partner with HR Business Partners, Legal, Health Services, Payroll, onsite clinics, pharmacy, and external vendors to manage disability-related matters.

         Support leader and employee education related to wellness, functional capacity, accommodations, and early engagement.

         Maintain strict medical confidentiality and appropriate documentation standards.

         Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Healthcare, Human Resources or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of relative experience in Healthcare, Human Resources or related field required

  • Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining process improvements required

  • Experience working with medical confidentiality requirements required

  • Project management experience required

  • Experience in disability management or closely related programs preferred

  • Experience with integrated disability management experience preferred

QUALIFICATONS:

  • Working knowledge of disability-related laws and regulations and wellness principles

  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and customer service skills

  • Experience in Workers' Compensation, Vocational Rehabilitation, Disability Management, Reasonable Accommodation, or Return-to-Work programs

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and enterprise processes

  • Experience interpreting and applying government laws and regulatory requirements
