How does a director typically balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational oversight?

Successful Directors maintain open communication with their teams, foster collaboration across departments, and stay adaptable to changes in business priorities. About Nen Creative

Nen Creative partners with tech startups to launch bold ideas into the world, creating the brands, products, and stories that fuel their growth.

Since 2022, we’ve partnered with some of the world’s top founders and institutions, including Amazon, Pear VC, Andreessen Horowitz, Wispr Flow, Rogo, Mercor, Rox, Netic, Listen Labs, Tech Week, Paraform, Spur, Flora, and more.

We’re growing fast and looking for great people to join us.

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a highly creative, execution-oriented Creative Director to help lead the next phase of video and storytelling at Nen.

This role sits at the intersection of creative direction, scripting, directing, and production. We need someone who can develop strong creative concepts, shape narratives, write and refine scripts, direct talent on set, and help elevate the overall quality and originality of the work.

You’ll work closely with founders, producers, cinematographers, editors, and motion designers across a wide range of projects including founder-led videos, launch films, commercials, brand campaigns, product storytelling, interviews, and experimental creative work.

What You'll Do
  • Develop creative concepts, narratives, and treatments for video projects across a range of formats

  • Write, refine, and support scripts for founder-led videos, commercials, brand films, launch content, and interviews

  • Direct shoots on set, including talent direction, pacing, performance, framing, and creative execution

  • Collaborate with producers and cinematographers to define the visual and emotional direction of projects

  • Work closely with editors and motion designers through post-production to ensure creative cohesion and quality

  • Help elevate Nen’s overall storytelling, creative quality, and directing standards

  • Translate abstract ideas into clear, emotionally resonant creative concepts

  • Push for stronger work while balancing real-world production timelines and constraints

  • Participate in creative reviews, brainstorming, scripting, and internal development conversations

  • Adapt creative approaches depending on the client, audience, platform, and project goals

What We're Looking For
  • Strong directing and storytelling instincts

  • Excellent taste and understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and emotional impact

  • Experience directing commercials, brand films, interviews, documentaries, or narrative work

  • Strong scripting, messaging, and narrative development ability

  • Comfortable presenting ideas and communicating directly with founders and clients

  • Ability to guide non-professional talent and founders on camera

  • Deep understanding of how cinematography, editing, motion, sound, and pacing work together creatively

  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving production environment with occasional travel and shoot schedules

Why Join Nen
  • Be part of a small, fast-growing creative studio trusted by world-class startups and investors

  • Work directly with the partners on ambitious, high-impact projects across some of the most interesting companies in tech

  • Lead and define the strategy practice at Nen, with real ownership over how we approach the work and how the team grows

  • Help shape the brands, narratives, and stories of the next generation of tech companies

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), PTO, and company holidays

  • Salary Range: $70,000-$120,000 depending on experience
