Job description

Warehouse Specialist

Newark, DE | Full-Time | Operations | Saf-Gard Safety Shoe Company

About the Role

Warehouse work is hands-on, fast-paced, and all about accuracy, timing and consistency. If you've worked in warehouse associate jobs, warehouse worker roles, or distribution center environments, you understand how important every step of the process is.

This Warehouse Specialist role supports internal warehouse operations focused on stocking, pulling inventory and shipping product to other Saf-Gard locations and retail partners. Unlike our direct-to-customer site, this location primarily moves products between internal warehouses and distribution points.

At Saf-Gard Safety Shoe Company, we believe in keeping things straightforward. No bureaucracy. No unnecessary drama. Just good people working together to solve problems and support our customers.

What You'll Do

Stocking (Inbound & Warehouse Operations)

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments (loading dock operations)
  • Stock product into warehouse aisles and maintain organized inventory locations
  • Consolidate and reorganize aisles for efficiency and inventory accuracy
  • Follow daily direction from team leads on stocking priorities
  • Support general warehouse operations and stock replenishment

Pulling (Outbound Internal Distribution)

  • Pull products based on priority orders, including backorders and replenishment requests
  • Support high-priority order fulfillment when large internal orders require full-team support
  • Prepare outbound shipments for other Saf-Gard warehouse locations, including New Castle and other non-Delaware sites
  • Print and manage labels for outbound shipments (warehouse management system / WMS activity)
  • Stage product for shipment and ensure correct order accuracy
  • Wrap and palletize outbound product for transport (packing and shipping / outbound logistics)
  • Coordinate movement of product to internal distribution locations
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in warehouse jobs, warehouse worker roles, warehouse specialist, or material handler positions
  • Ability to perform order picking, stocking, and shipping and receiving tasks
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced distribution center environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy and quality control
  • Ability to work in a physically active role including lifting, stacking, and palletizing
  • Willingness to learn warehouse systems and processes (WMS experience a plus)
  • Reliable, team-oriented and able to work independently when needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with order picker, warehouse operations or inventory control systems
  • Familiarity with cycle counts, stock replenishment, or outbound logistics
  • Previous experience in internal distribution or inter-warehouse shipping
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Experience working in high-volume warehouse environments
Schedule
  • Full-time position
  • Weekend availability required
  • Schedules are subject to change; confirmation provided prior to interview
Compensation & Benefits
  • Company-paid dental, vision, long-term disability, short-term disability, and life insurance beginning the first of the month after 60 days
  • Multi-tiered medical insurance plans to choose from (benefits valued at over $10,000 annually)
  • 8 paid holidays per year
  • PTO available after 90 days (3.08 hours per pay period; approx. 1.5 weeks annually), with opportunities to earn additional PTO based on tenure
  • 401(k) plan with 50% employer match on first 6% of employee base pay
