Performance Team handles end-to-end warehousing and distribution logistics needs utilizing our strategic network of storage facilities. Our facilities are capable of receiving, storing, processing and dispatching cargo, so we can build flexibility and resilience into the supply chain process. Our integrated solutions allow us to be prepared for supply chain risks, so we can plan distribution to better achieve lead time and goals despite unexpected conditions. Summary:
Provide support as cold chain solutions subject matter expert in enablement pursuits, solutions execution, training and product development. The Director of Operations for Cold Storage will have full profit and loss and leadership responsibility for all facility operations and commercial development within the respective region. This key leadership role will have accountability for a region of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Cold Storages facilities operate at the highest levels of productivity and service and foster an environment of development and continuous improvement among the facility leaders
  • Oversight will include all operations aspects of all operational facilities within a region including managing day to day service challenges and ensuring financial targets are met
  • Responsible for business development and client management within assigned region and for ensuring execution on commercial strategy, sales targets, and maintenance of client relationships
  • Ensure safety policies and practices are being adhered to and are fundamental to the company culture
  • Meet customer and company key performance metrics, goals and objectives
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills through (but not limited to) fostering a team environment amongst and within the facilities; coaching and mentoring teams and developing skills and abilities of direct reports
  • Supports the commitment to the company's Core Values
  • Coordinate with Managers and Human Resources to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Perform other job-related duties as required
  • Operations: Ensure the development of systems and procedures for operating and managing physical facilities, human resources, and equipment in a profitable manner. Plan, direct and implement warehouse operations, procedures and support to meet prescribed productivity and service levels.
  • Labor Management: Directs the operation of the warehouse team to achieve prescribed objectives and standards. Develop and maintain a productive, motivated work force by ensuring effective hiring, training and development of distribution center associates. Manages labor cost for improved productivity. Provides timely and appropriate performance reviews to all direct reports and ensures the same is done for all associates
  • Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all customers (internal and external). Establish programs to improve customer awareness at all levels in the organization. Maintain records and reports to ensure customer service levels are being met Develop and maintain strong partnership with customers and vendors to achieve financial results
  • Inventory Management: Ensures all customers objectives and standards are met regarding inventory accuracy. Is accountable for the inventory assets of the facility as it pertains to loss/damage
  • Safety/Housekeeping: Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate programs to ensure that all safety and housekeeping standards and objectives are met. Assure compliance to regulations in regard to safety certification to forklift drivers, and OSHA guidelines
  • Equipment and Facility: Procure equipment and facility preventative maintenance services to assure efficient operations of all facets of the center. Maintain suitable equipment and services to assure security of customer and company assets
  • Identify and implement changes in areas for potential cost savings and process improvement
  • Drive automation within processes (i.e.: invoicing) to achieve long term cost and efficiency savings
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local legal requirements
  • Mentor, Coach and provide continuous feedback to colleagues
  • Performs job related duties as specified by management

Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Business/Logistics/Supply Chain or other related
10+ years in distribution and logistics industry, preferably with a diversity of experiences in manufacturing, transportation and distribution/warehousing
Strong leadership attributes with the ability to drive performance across a diverse team of associates in an operations environment
Strong development, training and coaching skills. Ability to nurture growth and develop a strong bench
Financial and analytical acumen in the areas of operations, cost management, pricing and volume management
Superior customer service skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients directly
Strong values and a bias for action in decision-making. Candidate must possess solid decision-analysis skills including cost/benefit analysis, investment NPV and break-even analysis

CCL

  • Experience working in a temperature controlled 3PL warehouse
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration components (PSM if applicable)
  • Experience in compliance with USDA, CBP, and food safety standards
  • Must be comfortable working in conditions down to -20F for extended periods of time
  • Experience managing expiration/production dates within a food/pharmaceutical environment

Pay:

$150k annually

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
