Job Summary

The Director of Business Transformation is a leader who thrives in both complexity and strategic execution. Accountable for global business transformation this leader excels in building positive customer and West cross-functional relations by executing on milestones aligned to growth, optimization, customer satisfaction and financial deliverables. #LI-CT1

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and leads on a transformation vision and strategy aligned to the overall West Vantage OU strategic plan, enabling business excellence and optimization across the manufacturing network and supporting functions.
  • Represents global operations as a customer interface facilitating continuous improvement and a partnership recognized as best-in-class e.g.
    • Tactical execution versus KPI's
    • Asset transfer / upgrade programs
    • Inputs and fronts, Joint Process Teams (JPT), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR's), Executive Business Reviews
    • New business / programs execution
  • Drives alignment and optimization across Operations identifying major cross site opportunities that impact cost, quality, supply, and overall business performance. Leads initiatives to capitalize on these opportunities and accelerates enterprise level improvement.
  • Acts as a mentor / leader to Tiger teams ensuring optimal solutions and communications across the customer - West network.
  • Ensures effective engagement with global functions and peers in leading and implementing best practices e.g. materials management
  • Challenges status quo and leads across geographic and functional boundaries to bring resources and expertise together as needed to deliver innovation, global solutions or break down barriers.
  • Inspires and leads teams towards excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring a culture of 'can do' is deeply rooted in the DNA of the organization.
  • Implements and effectively leads global transformation review meetings i.e. reports on progress, successes, issues, and associated mitigation / corrective action plans.
  • Acts as a mentor and 'go to' leader in support of talent identification, development and retention locally and globally.
  • Consistently enforces and ensures compliance with all related policies, practices, procedures, and guidelines.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science, or business
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior operational leadership including global accountability
  • Background in leading major change and complex transformational programs e.g. new program ramps, global optimization and right-sizing, cultural and leadership transformation.
  • Ideally a former Site / Operations Director.
  • Experience of leading teams across multiple geographical locations in a highly matrixed organization
  • Highly competent problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly analytical with proven project management skills.
  • Possesses excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people - mobilizing resources to work together with a shared sense of mission.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and grow talent, build organizational capabilities.
  • Previous role with strong customer interaction and demonstrated ability to build strong customer partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-growth or transformational environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma / Blackbelt certification.
License and Certifications
  • Manufacturing\Lean Six Sigma Certification
Travel Requirements
40% Up to 104 business days per year
Physical Requirements
Medium-Exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects.
