Description

Job Title: Director, Enterprise Business Transformation & Operational Excellence

Location: Westfield, IN

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a hands-on transformation leader to drive enterprise-wide strategy, operating-model improvements, and value creation across a complex, multi-site industrial business. This role is a core member of the organizational leadership team, with a mandate to personally lead, structure, analyze, and execute transformation initiatives-working directly with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to turn strategy into measurable results.

This person will operate as a strategic problem solver and execution partner, identifying opportunities, building business cases, redesigning processes, and driving initiatives through implementation and value realization. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear path to building and leading a dedicated transformation team as the capability matures within the organization.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Personally lead enterprise transformation and operating-model improvement initiatives from problem definition and strategy through execution and measurable value realization.
  • Analyze business performance, identify operational and financial improvement opportunities, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement methodologies to improve cost, quality, safety, delivery, and profitability.
  • Lead and support M&A activities, including due diligence, post-merger integration, carve-outs, and synergy/value-capture initiatives.
  • Build and maintain transformation roadmaps, business cases, financial models, project plans, KPIs, and governance mechanisms.
  • Work directly with commercial, finance, and operations leaders to improve P&L performance, profitable growth, and value creation.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize core systems and processes, including ERP/SAP, and evaluate AI-enabled and digital solutions based on measurable business impact.
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions, resolve complex business problems, and personally drive critical initiatives to completion.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in our Strategy and Transformation office in Europe, contributing to globally coordinated initiatives and sharing best practices across geographies.
  • Present findings, recommendations, progress, and results to executive leadership and other key stakeholders

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of experience in transformation, strategy, operations, management consulting, or operational excellence, ideally within industrial, manufacturing, automation, or supply-chain environments.
  • Demonstrated experience personally driving complex transformation initiatives from analysis through implementation, rather than primarily overseeing teams or programs.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable results, including revenue growth, margin expansion, cost reduction, productivity improvements, and other value-creation initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in operational excellence, Lean / Six Sigma, and structured problem solving; Black Belt preferred.
  • Experience with M&A integration, operating-model design, process optimization, and value-capture initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L, EBIT, business cases, ROI, planning, and financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and execution skills with the ability to move from high-level strategy into detailed implementation.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • MBA from a leading program and/or an engineering background strongly preferred.
  • Experience with AI-enabled / digital transformation and agentic GTM.
  • Warehouse/manufacturing automation domain knowledge, including WES/MES, aftermarket service, or commercial project controlling.
  • ERP/SAP implementation or optimization experience.
  • Global / multi-continent experience, particularly US and APAC.
  • Experience working in a PE-backed or highly performance-driven industrial environment.

PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

  • Hands-on and action-oriented, with a willingness to personally dive into analysis, problem-solving, and execution.
  • Highly analytical and intellectually curious, with the ability to simplify complex business challenges and identify practical solutions.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Results-driven and accountable, with a strong focus on measurable business impact and value creation.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and lead change without relying on direct authority.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Regular in-office collaboration with executive and cross-functional teams.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required to support business initiatives, operating locations, and global collaboration.
  • Fast-paced, highly visible role requiring the ability to manage multiple strategic priorities and adapt as business needs evolve.
  • Regular interaction with senior leadership and teams across functions, business units, and geographies.
