If you thrive in high-impact environments and know your way around telecom infrastructure from the manhole to the boardroom, keep reading.ROLE SUMMARYThe Project Manager for Texas Field Operations is a hands-on leader responsible for planning, executing, and delivering key operational goals in our copper decommissioning and extraction programs. You will be the primary orchestrator of field logistics, engineering execution, regulatory coordination, and team performance across multiple work fronts.This is not a role for paper pushers. We need a proactive operator who’s equally comfortable speaking to city officials and guiding field crews in a vault. Someone who can run a yard, manage cable inventory, speak telecom fluently, and build systems where there are none.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperational Oversight: Lead daily operations of field activities across multiple extraction fronts—splicing, pulling, bundling, container logistics, etc.Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, utility partners, municipalities, and subcontractors. Handle communication with polish and precision.Technical Execution: Supervise or support splicing, decommissioning, and cable recovery activities. Must understand the telecom environment inside and out—COs, vaults, ducts, and more.Resource Management: Coordinate materials, mechanical tools, vehicles, and yard operations. Keep inventories tight and tools in service.Team Leadership: Inspire and discipline crews. Lead with integrity, establish accountability, and foster high performance in a resource-constrained, fast-moving environment.Reporting & Documentation: Own the production of timely, accurate reports for internal tracking and external stakeholders. Use Excel, cloud tools, and dashboards effectively.Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to OSHA standards and promote a culture of safety and accountability.IDEAL PROFILEExperience: 5–10+ years in telecom operations, ideally copper-based infrastructure. Experience managing field projects in telecom, utilities, or civil engineering. Previous leadership roles (foreman, supervisor, PM, etc.)Technical: Familiar with Central Offices (COs), manholes, splicing, and network migrations. Comfortable around mechanical equipment and basic yard management. OSHA-aware and capable of running safe, compliant operations.IT & Reporting: Proficient in Excel, Word, and cloud platforms like Google Workspace, Office 365, ZOHO, etc. Comfortable preparing client-facing communications and progress reports.Network tools: Ability to read Shape/KMZ file network workprints, familiar with engineering concepts.Reasonable notion of corporate financials such as P&L, budgets and costing.Leadership: Strong personnel management: fair, direct, no-nonsense approach. • Lead daily field operations across multiple extraction fronts (splicing, pulling, bundling, transport, container logistics)
• Plan and schedule crews, equipment, yard activities, and materials to hit production targets
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, utilities, municipalities, and subcontractors with clear, timely communication
• Oversee technical execution in COs, manholes, vaults, ducts, and yards; support splicing/decommissioning workflows
• Run yard operations: inventory control, staging, cable segregation, and dispatch; maintain tool and fleet readiness
• Enforce safety and compliance standards (OSHA, traffic control, permits, utility locates); lead JSAs and toolbox talks
• Produce accurate reports, dashboards, and client updates; track production, costs, variances, and KPIs
• Manage subcontractors: scope, quality, performance, and adherence to SOPs and SLAs
• Identify risks, remove blockers, and drive continuous improvement and practical innovation in the field
• Support budgeting, job costing, and P&L awareness; optimize productivity and cost per foot recovered
• Build, coach, and hold accountable high-performing, safety-first field teams
• Coordinate regulatory/municipal permits, inspections, and right-of-way requirements

Requirements:

• 5–10+ years in telecom, utilities, or civil field operations; copper infrastructure experience preferred

• Proven leadership in the field (foreman, supervisor, PM) managing multi-crew, multi-site operations

• Fluent with telecom environments: Central Offices, manholes/vaults, duct banks, splicing/decommissioning workflows

• Ability to read and interpret Shape/KMZ workprints and basic engineering documentation

• Strong command of Excel and cloud tools (Google Workspace/Office 365; familiarity with Zoho or similar apps)

• Fluent use of AI platform for work optimization.

• Demonstrated excellence in reporting, client-facing communication, and stakeholder management

• OSHA-aware with a track record of building and enforcing safety-first culture; traffic control and permit know-how

• Comfort with mechanical equipment, yard management, inventory control, and fleet/tool maintenance practices

• Business and Financial acumen: basic understanding of budgets, costing, productivity metrics, and P&L drivers

• High initiative, ownership mentality, and resilience in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments

• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel regionally across Texas; willingness to work field schedules as needed

• Education: Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction Management preferred, or equivalent experience
